Daily Prayer for May 21st

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Our Father,

We gather today with heavy hearts. Our hearts grieve with those who grieve…and we mourn with those who mourn. Father, we ask that you touch each life that has been affected by the devastating tornadoes. It is hard to comprehend how so much damage can be done in such a short time. We pray for all the families that are grieving the loss of their loved ones today…especially the parents of the school children that were lost…

As we look at these pictures and hear the stories that are emerging, it’s hard not to think of your follower Job…He lost all of his children, his home, his possessions, his wealth and his health, all in one fell swoop…yet he remained steadfast in his faith…we can’t help but believe, that his story of suffering and unwavering faith in your goodness, was an example for times such as these…we can’t help but think, that his story is for those who in the blink of an eye, lose everything and wonder how they are supposed to carry on…

Father, we stand in the gap today and we pray for all who are feeling weary, broken and hopeless. We stand in the gap and we lift up all who are struggling to find you in the midst of such suffering, tragedy and loss. Father, we pray for your comfort…we pray that you will show yourself in ways they’ve never known before…May they come to understand that you do not cause these disasters…these tragedies come with living in a fallen world…when people wonder where you were yesterday, Lord…may they come to realize that you were there in their midst and by their side… comforting the scared…you were there, covering many under the shadow of your wing… and you were there kissing the faces of children as they took their last breath here and opened their eyes to see your face in Paradise… Father, we ask for you to pour down your grace and mercy upon the hurting and may they find hope in you to carry on…please give them strength for all that lies ahead and may they be showered with the kindness of strangers who are moved with compassion to minister and serve those who have lost so much.

Father, when our hearts are overwhelmed, lead us to the rock that is higher than us or anything we may face…you are our refuge…our comfort, our provider and our healer…this world is so in need of you, Lord. There is so much suffering, but we know this is just temporary…this is not our home and we are just passing through. We can survive without everything but you, Our Father…tragedies always remind us of what is important…what is lasting and true. Help us to not lay up treasures here where they can be destroyed in a blink of an eye…help us to treasure things like family and friends and most of all our relationship with you. Help us have a loose grip on things of this world and a tight grip on you, Father.

Father, the tornadoes are the big news now, but we know there are people suffering all over the world today…people who have lost loved ones and homes and belonging to bombs, fighting and persecution …people who have lost their possessions to foreclosure and job loss… people who escaped with nothing but their lives in other natural disasters around the globe. There are people grieving who have lost children to car accidents and to disease and other tragedies. We don’t have to look far to see the hurting around us…most need look no further than our own families or ourselves…

Father, we ask for you to meet the needs of each person that is seeking you and your help. Please do what only you can do … redeem … restore … renew … comfort … bring peace … give hope. Help us to cherish those we love and let them know that we love them…Help us to seize the day and make things right in relationships that need healing… Help us to take nothing for granted… and may we make the most of this life that you’ve given us…In the name of Jesus, we thank you and ask these things. Amen.

Blessings be upon you!
Much love in Him,
Debbie

Hello Friends! Here is today’s prayer…

Gracious Lord…

We ask that you lead and guide and direct our paths today. Please remove the obstacles that cloud our vision and keep us blinded from your truth. Give us your Holy boldness so that we can follow through with the things that you tell us to do and help us step out in faith, when it seems much safer to sit on the shore.

Lord, sometimes even when we think we are healed or when we are making progress in healing, something will rear its ugly head and make us feel that overwhelming sadness that makes us just want to crawl into bed and never get out…things can be so overwhelming that we just long to escape this world and be with you so we don’t have to face the difficulties again and again. Lord, I think sometimes you allow adversity in our lives just so we will long for heaven…for your presence…and for the comfort and the things that await us there… you want us to never get so comfortable here, that we forget we are only passing through this world.

Help us Lord, through the dark valleys…as long as we live we are going to be going up and down from the valleys to the mountain tops and back to the valleys again. Please give us the stamina to endure Lord. Grant us this day, your strength and the fortitude to keep putting one foot in front of the other.

Lord, we ask for those difficult people in our lives…the ones who continually cause hurt and pain because they are just so clueless or uncaring to see the damage they inflict…Lord, we ask that you will speak to their hearts…may they find the ability to see past themselves and find you standing there, with your arms wide open ready to change their hearts and bring them peace and new perspectives. May they see their need for you and may they be transformed into your image. We pray for restoration of damaged relationships and we ask Lord, to be delivered from those who will not turn from their wicked ways. Please clean out the wounds of those who have been victimized by others, so they can find healing and peace,Lord. Please, restore all that they have lost at the hands of others.

Grant each one here your refreshment today Lord. Like a glass of cold water on a hot day, may we find refreshment in your presence and in your word. Speak to our hearts. Help us to focus on you. Help us to mount up with wings like eagles. Help us to run and not grow weary. Help us to soar above our troubles, worries, disappointments and sadness. Help us to look ahead and not look behind. Help us to look to you and our blessings and not those who have let us down and hurt us. Help us to keep pressing on and upwards, steadfast in our faith and trust in you. Bless us this day Lord so we can bless others. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

May you sense His presence in profound ways today!
Much love In Him,
Debbie

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…hopefully better late, than never!

Dear Lord…

Father, we pray that we will feel the power of your Holy Spirit today…we ask that you would do in us, as you did in the book of Acts… please fill us with the power, strength, courage and boldness that comes from you. May we feel the comfort that only the Holy Spirit can give this day.

For any that are reading this, that don’t know you, Lord… we ask that you would lead them to a saving knowledge of who you are…may they come to know that you are the answer to every need and our greatest hope. May they come to know that even though there are billions of people in this world, you know each of us by name and you love each of us with an everlasting, unconditional love.

Lord, we thank you because you did not leave us powerless in this world…you gave us all we need to survive anything we face in our lives. You taught us how to pray…you provided the tools we need to face every battle we will come up against. You gave us a family of believers to stand with us…so when we join together in your name, we can defeat any foe that arises against us.

Lord, please encourage each person reading this…remind them that there is nothing that can defeat them as long as they are walking with you. Father, there are many battles being waged against my friends…overwhelming grief, illness, every kind of relationship problems, financial problems, spiritual problems …but Lord, you told us we are not as those without hope…you say you provide a way of escape through temptation… and you help us handle every trial we are given with your strength…you take care of your own and you help us to handle every situation we face.

We pray for a renewed sense of power to rise in each one today…a renewed sense of hope….help them to see that this life is just a very small part of their eternal life…there is so much more that awaits and the trials of this life are just a blink of an eye in comparison. Rain down your grace and peace on each one Lord and may they be able to rejoice in the midst of the pains and trial knowing they are overcoming children of the King of Kings and you have not left them defenseless or alone…There is power in numbers Lord, and you have assembled a great army here…prayer warriors standing in the gap for each one…and though some cannot see beyond the dark valley they are in…there are a host of heavenly armies and a host of prayer warriors interceding on their behalf…Jesus Himself, is sitting on the throne interceding…we can not fail…what power… what hope is in that phrase…WE CAN NOT FAIL…not because of who we are, but because of whose we are! We will not fail when we are walking with you.

Oh, Lord, may each one find strength for the day by remembering the words, I cannot fail…the war may still be raging…but we know who wins in the end..you promise Lord and your promises are true..you do not lie…May each person reading this feel your presence and your peace and find the strength they need as they cling to the knowledge that the victory is assured them. Meet each need,in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Standing in the gap for each of you today…you are loved!

In Him,

Debbie

Hello! Here is today’s prayer…

Dear Lord God,

What a wonder you are! There is none like you, Lord. Your glory and splendor are beyond compare. We look at your creativity all around us…the works of your hands and we cannot even imagine what beauty awaits us in Paradise. Oh Father God, we ask for each of us …help us block out everything around us so we can focus on you. With each deep breath we take, may we feel consumed by your peace. May we be staggered by who you are…the King of Glory…The One that calls us heirs of your kingdom. We praise you Lord..we praise you…

Lord, please be with us and our loved ones today. We ask for a hedge of protection to be about those we love, Lord. We ask for your divine mercy to rain down on us. We ask for the grace and strength to see life through your eyes. May we see everything with a heavenly perspective. May we be slow to speak and slow to anger. May we extend to others the same grace and mercy you show to us. May we show compassion like you show to us. Lord, no matter what our limitations are, we ask that you would use us to point the way to you.

Lord, please help us heal from the wounds in our lives…may we feel that you are working in us and may we feel confident that you will faithfully complete the work that you have begun in us. We will triumph over adversity and come back stronger than before, because you are the one that rebuilds us. Relieve the discouragement, relieve the bad memories, relieve the pain from emotional scars, Lord, so that all that remains is the feeling of well-being that comes from your healing hand upon us.

Lord, please bless our coming and our goings. May we glorify you in all we say and do.We thank you, that no matter what this day brings, you will be with us. We love you Lord. We don’t know what we’d do without you. With gratitude we ask these things in Jesus’ name, Amen

Blessings be upon you friends! You are loved!

Good Morning! The Lord has put on my heart that there are some of my friends here, who desperately want to have hope in their circumstances, but just need some tangible steps to take to get them to that place of finding Biblical hope in the midst of difficult situations…

So, what I am going to start offering, beginning the first week in June, is for anyone interested is an email once a week with some helpful tips, scriptures etc., that can help you to feel more hopeful and help you to view your circumstances from an eternal perspective. I’m not quite sure how many weeks this will last at this point…these are things I share as a “Hope Coach” and I have not done this in this format before, but I am sure it will last at least 4 weeks.

If you would like to receive this weekly email, please send me a message at debbie@hopeforthebrokenhearted.com and put “weekly email” in the subject line and I will add you to the list.

One thing I would like to offer to you now that you can do to help yourself is to keep a “hope journal”…it’s similar to a gratitude journal…and you don’t really have to journal…but what you want to place in your notebook are things that make you smile… things that comfort you… things that lift your spirits…. write down the things you have to be grateful for, list your blessings…write down scriptures that comfort you and bring you hope…if you see a picture that makes you feel peaceful…jokes that make you smile…notes of encouragement or cards that people have sent you…you get the idea…it’s a place where you put things that when you are feeling really down, you can go and look at your journal to lift your spirits…this isn’t a place to write down sad thoughts or feelings…this is only a place for you to place things that will help you to do as it says in Phil 4:8-9 (AMP) “For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].9 Practice what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and model your way of living on it, and the God of peace (of [a]untroubled, undisturbed well-being) will be with you.”

Blessings, hugs and love to you!
In His service,
Debbie Kay

Hello, Friends! Here is today’s prayer…

Dear Lord,

Today we want to lift up all that find themselves or a loved one, in a life and death battle with their health. Lord we ask for your healing hand to be upon them. Please ease their pain, and remove the viruses, cancers, infections and everything that is attacking their bodies. Please heal the wounds and injuries. For those who are in pain, we pray for relief for them, Father. Lord, we pray for the removal of fear and anxiety and ask for your peace to descend on each person and those who love them. Please provide the best medical care, Lord. We also ask for financial provision to pay their medical bills and expenses.

Lord, for all the people with chronic illness and disorders, we ask for your divine intervention and provision. Lord, these things can range from the invisible and barely noticeable in our lives…to leaving us bedridden or barely able to function. Lord, we ask that you will give strength to endure and we pray for your healing hand to be upon each of these as well. Lord, for the parents, spouses, and caregivers of those with special needs, please give them strength when they are weary. Provide respite care for them. For those who are married, we ask for a hedge about their relationships that the stress won’t tear them apart. For the single parents, we ask for people to see their heavy loads and for them to reach out with support and encouragement. We ask for a shield about each one of these who have suffered pain from the hurtful words and judgments of others who have no clue what it is like to walk in their shoes. Please send people who understand and have hearts of compassion to help carry their burdens. For each one in need, we ask that you would open the doors so they can receive all the services that are needed and we ask Lord, for you to bless them and provide for them.

Lord, you know how brief, fragile and fleeting our lives are. Life passes by like the blink of an eye. There are never enough hours in the day, except when we are full of grief… and then the days seem endless. Help our faith when it is weak. Help us to count it all joy when we encounter trials and adversity… help us to grow and learn to treasure the things you teach us and help your promises to be like a life-preserver thrown to a drowning man…may they support and hold us up and help us to hold fast to the things that we’ve been taught. Lord, please sustain, encourage and build up each one here. Help them to have faith when they can’t clearly see the answers or understand the reasons behind what is happening in their lives……help them to trust when it doesn’t seem natural to do so.

Bless each one we pray and meet their every need, Lord. We thank you that you are in our midst Lord and we praise you and thank your for your saving grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen

Blessings be upon you!
Debbie

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for being our shelter in the storms. Thank you for being our fortress…our safe harbor…and our refuge. Lord, for many that are gathered here, the storms they find themselves in are scary…they are afraid…they feel vulnerable, beat up and battered. Many feel stuck…like they are a prisoner of their circumstances or their pain and they want to break free and run…they feel like there must be somewhere safer where they can escape the storms and find peace and calm…but if they could look from an outside perspective, they would see that though the winds are howling and the waters are raging, there is no safer place to be than in the shelter you provide. There is no safer place to be than the center of your will.

Lord, I know many are saying “How long Lord must I endure?” Many are questioning where you are and when you will deliver on your promises…many are confused and questioning so many things about their life…about the things they’ve known…they are wondering about you, Lord…Father, for these we pray they would hear your voice over the storms…we ask that you would give them the wisdom and discernment to know which way to go in their lives when they are feeling that they’ve made a wrong turn or they must be on the wrong path. Send them wise counsel and guide them with your Word and through prayer and give them clarity with the tough questions in life… questions like – when to let go…how to move forward…how to trust you when it is hard…how to keep walking by faith when they would just rather give up…how are things going to get better…when will the pain end…

Father, the enemy is just doing a number on people filling them with discouragement…speaking lies making people believe that your promises aren’t true or they are for someone else…making people believe that if you really cared about them their life should be different or better…Father, in the name of Jesus, we bind the enemy…we pray to break the chains that he has imposed…we pray to shake off the doubts and the fears and the lies he spreads to make us question your power and authority and who you are and what you can do in the life that is yielded to you. Father, we ask that you would strengthen us so that we would want you… and to know you better, more than we want our physical, mental, emotional or financial comfort…we ask to be filled with your Holy Spirit that we may receive boldness and courage to keep pressing on even though we have no clue what we are doing or how we are going to face all that’s in front of us…please take our hand, Lord and never let go…lead and guide us through the dark valleys until we see the light before us…help us to mature and grow and never grow weary in well-doing. We may falter, we may fall down…but be our strength Lord and pick us up and dust us off so we can be the mighty warriors that overcome through you.

Father you didn’t say being a Christ follower would be easy…in fact, you tell us we will face hardships of every kind…we will be rejected and persecuted…we will suffer for your name…but through it all…we can have a rich, abundantly rewarding spiritual life…. instead of it just being a hard life that we must face on our own…you go before us…you stand beside us…you carry our burdens… you gave so much when you died on that cross for us and you keep giving to us…you take our sin…you give your strength…you give your joy… you give your peace…you show your strength in our weakness…help us to count it all joy, Lord…help us to see the value in our pain and adversity…help us to see the fruit that it brings…help us to treasure the sweet fellowship that we are allowed to share with you in the midst of it all…help us to look at the examples in the Bible of the many ways that your followers endured hardship and were transformed by it…help us to realize the many miracles and blessings that came from trusting, believing and clinging to you, Lord…help us to look beyond what we want and what we think should happen in our lives, so we might be fully aware of what you want to do in our lives.

Go before us Lord…forgive our impatience…forgive us when we are weak and when we lack faith…make us into the men and women you want us to be so we might please you, Father. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Blessings be upon you all!
Much love in Him,
Debbie
