Prayer For Dec. 9th

December 9, 2019

Hello, Friends! Here is today’s prayer…

Dear Heavenly Father,

As we prepare our hearts during this season of Advent, we are reminded that faith and waiting are intertwined.  Your people waited and watched for the coming Messiah for centuries without a Word from you, but at the appointed time, you sent your Son to fulfill every prophecy and every promise. Heaven and earth will pass away, but not one word of yours will ever pass away.

At times our faith seems so small and inadequate, and we struggle with being patient. Help us to remember that it only takes faith the size of a mustard seed to move mountains. We’re told that those who trust in you will be like a tree planted by the water whose roots run deep. We won’t need to fear when the heat comes or be anxious in years of drought because our roots run deep into your Living Water. It takes years for a tiny acorn to mature and become a mighty oak. Please forgive us for our impatience and help us to trust your timing to provide and to fulfill your plans, promises, and purpose in our lives.

So much of faith is about trusting when it makes no earthly sense to, accepting what we don’t understand and believing in what we can’t yet see. You have done remarkable things throughout history through the least likely of people and in the most unlikely ways. We can only imagine how Mary, Joseph, Elizabeth, and Zechariah must have felt as they watched the miraculous things that transpired around Jesus’ and his cousin, John the Baptist’s births. These families are such examples and witnesses to us of what miracles you can do in, and through, those who trust and have faith in you.

Every prophecy that had been spoken about the Messiah’s birth came to pass. Help us to live with an expectation of seeing all the prophecies fulfilled about His return.  Fill us with your Spirit. May our hearts be filled with your joy as we think about the indescribable gift Jesus is to us. May our tiny seed of faith grow and bear much fruit for you. We give you this day and week, and all that’s in it and look forward to all you will do. In Jesus’ name, we ask these things. Amen

May you feel His comfort and nearness, friends!

In His love,
Debbie

Prayer For Dec. 8th

December 8, 2019

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Lord,
We thank you for Jesus…our hope…our Messiah…our Deliverer…Our Prince of Peace and Our Redeemer. He is The One who will one day make all things right and new. One day we will be set free from the pain and darkness of this world. Though we don’t see everything clearly now, there is one thing we can see clearly…your love for us and the great lengths you have gone to show us that love.
We see that you loved the world so much that you gave your only son to be born, to suffer, and to die in our place so we might live. He carried our sins and our pain and paid a price that we couldn’t so that if we believe, we might have eternal life. That is the truth we stand on today. That is the light that shines brightly in the darkness. The hope we cling to is the same hope that drove the wise men to follow a bright and shining star to find a special child who was a promised Deliverer, King, and Messiah. They sought a baby who was deemed a threat by evil men and born with a price on his head…a baby who grew into a man who was well acquainted with grief, sorrow, and pain. Jesus is the promised Messiah who will one day wipe away the last tears from our eyes and will say once again, ”It is finished! No More!!!”  No more pain, no more tears, no more death, no more poverty, no more loss, no more sickness, no more disease. Death is swallowed up in victory. He shall reign forever and ever.May the hurting find comfort and hope today in who you are and all you’ve done…in all that you promise to do. Words are so inadequate, but we know you see our hearts. We are grateful that we will have all of eternity to thank you and praise you for all you have done for us.  With gratitude and love, we thank you that we can pray to you in the name of our beloved Savior, Jesus. Amen

May the hope of Christ fill your hearts today, friends!

Much love in Him,
Debbie

Prayer For Dec. 7th

December 7, 2019

Hello Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Lord,

Sometimes we find ourselves in such hard places that all we can do is to ask for your mercy. At times, no matter how hard we try to do and say the right things, there are people we deal with who take our actions and words wrong. We can’t even begin to try to work things out because the other person is unwilling to talk, listen, or see another perspective besides their own. You see the reasons for the heartache, pain, and tensions that divide and tear families apart.

The pain over hurtful situations is often amplified during the holidays. The old song “there’s no place like home for the holidays” just doesn’t ring true for so many. Their homes are battlefields, places of walking on eggshells, places of loneliness, isolation, or estrangement.

Lord, we lift up everyone who is dealing with complicated relationships. We pray for all who are dealing with pain, loss, addictions, abuse, and issues that are hidden behind closed doors. We pray for all who are sad because their holidays won’t be spent with loved ones. We pray for all who just don’t know what else to do…what else to pray…where else to turn. We cry out for mercy. Please help us to heal from the sense of loss we feel over situations that are not of our choosing and that are beyond our control.

Please help us to accept the things we can’t change and to find your peace. Help us not to give in to despair and hopelessness. Help us to trust that you can do what we cannot. We give you the longings of our hearts. We give you our dashed dreams and unimaginable realities, and we ask you to carry these things that weigh so heavy on our hearts and minds. Fill the broken and empty places with more of yourself. Please grant us your strength to carry on. Help us to focus on the true reason why we celebrate Christmas instead of on our losses and pain.

You came to bind our wounds and to set us free. Help us to remember who the real enemy is behind our earthly battles. Help us to rise up with hope, courage, and trust that you are in control and that things aren’t over until you say they are over. Help us to pray without ceasing and to look to you in our seasons of waiting. We ask these things in Jesus’ name. Amen

May you feel His nearness and comfort, friends!

In His love,
Debbie

Prayer For Dec. 6th

December 6, 2019

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for waking us this morning. Thank you for your promises and all the possibilities and potential that this day holds. Please go before us. Lead us, guide us, and order our day. Please put people in our path that we can share your love with. Help us to spread your hope, even as we seek it. May your will be fulfilled in our lives today. Help us to take our thoughts captive and to think about things that are uplifting, pure, and encouraging. May we experience “mental sunshine” that clears away any gray clouds and cobwebs of sadness, grief, negativity, worry, anxiety, fear, and depression.

Please help us to see you as larger than anything we face. Help us to keep things in proper perspective. May we never forget that what you’ve done for us is more significant than what’s been done to us or what’s happened to us. You are the Giver of Life, The Healer of Hearts, and the Redeemer of All. When we start to feel discouraged, overwhelmed or defeated, may we remember that your track record for seeing us through everything we’ve faced to this point is 100%. You will faithfully complete the work you’ve begun in each of us. Please help us to live with an attitude of gratitude…we benefit physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually when we focus on all that is right, instead of all that is wrong.

Please help us to walk in your light. Help us during our busy days to take time to appreciate the beauty of our world and the signs of your nearness. Please help us not to lose our sense of humor or wonder. Help us to take nothing for granted. May we find moments that make us smile today, and may we be the reason that someone else smiles. Please help us to take joy in our journey. May we be open to what you are trying to teach us and show us. We thank you for all you will do, and we ask these things in Jesus’ name. Amen

May your day be blessed!

In His love,
Debbie

Prayer For Dec 5th

December 5, 2019

Hello Friends! Here is today’s prayer…

Our Father,

We thank you for the beautiful things in the world that remind us that you are the Creator of All. It’s hard to imagine that even the most beautiful things in this world can’t begin to compare to what you’ve prepared for those who love you.

We can hardly imagine…the peace, joy, and beauty that awaits…to never be sick, tired, worried, hungry or afraid…to never be anxious…to never have to deal with grief and loss or have to fight to overcome sin or temptation…to live with evil vanquished forever…to find every longing completely satisfied…to feel every broken place in our hearts healed, and every painful memory fade away in an instant. It is hard to imagine the peace that awaits us when we become everything that you created us to be.

When times are hard, help us to remember that the struggles and losses of this life can’t begin to compare to the joy that is coming. Everything we’ve gone through in this life will be so worth it when we stand before you and have you wipe the tears from our eyes one last time and hear you say, “well done good and faithful servant.”

Please help us not settle for the things of this world, when heavenly rewards are eternal. Help us to not grow weary in doing good. Please give us a hunger and thirst for your righteousness. Place in us an overwhelming sense of urgency to reach the lost in this world, so none will perish without hearing the good news of why you came and all you have done for us.

We are so grateful to have you and the hope you give. We are grateful that we can face everything with your help and through your strength. We are thankful that we can have your peace here on earth and be drawn into your presence as we draw close to you. Please go before us this day and lead and guide us in all that we do and say. We ask these things in Jesus’ name. Amen

May you have a peace-filled day, friends!

In His love,
Debbie

Prayer For Dec. 4th

December 4, 2019

Hello Friends. Here is today’s prayer…

Dear Lord,

You make all things new and beautiful in your time. You bring morning after night. Spring after winter. Healing after grief. Life after death. All throughout your Word…all throughout nature…we see how change can bring many joyful blessings…but it usually takes time to see the good things emerge.

Lord, please be with those who are in a season of change. Please comfort those who mourn. Please speak peace to those whose lives are in chaos. Please help hope to rise. Help us to remember lessons from things like the caterpillar and the butterfly…so often what looks like the end, leads to a beautiful new beginning.

Every season has a purpose. You waste nothing in our lives. You are the one who redeems, restores, and brings beauty from ashes. You are always orchestrating things behind the scenes of our lives and the world. You never sleep, you never slumber. You hold all of creation in your hands, and you do all things well.

Help our hearts to be filled with joyful anticipation to see how you will work things together for good in our lives. Amid sorrow and adversity, may we remember how blessed we are for the gift of salvation and that you never leave or forsake us. May we rejoice year-round because of the birth of our Savior. May we be in awe when we remember the many prophecies and promises his birth fulfilled. May we never cease to rejoice and be in awe when we remember the many miracles that surrounded his birth.

We are so grateful that there is nothing that limits you. There is nothing that can stop your plans and what you’ve ordained. Please help us to never forget your past miracles and all the times you have rescued us, blessed us, answered our prayers, and showed yourself to be who you say you are.

We give you this day, and all that’s in it. Please go before us and be glorified in us. Help us to remember to make time to take in the beauty that surrounds us. May we take pleasure in simple moments and small victories. We love you, Lord, and we glorify and praise your name. We thank you that we can come before you in Jesus’ name, Amen.

May His peace fill your heart and home this day!

In His love,
Debbie

Prayer For Dec. 3rd

December 3, 2019

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Heavenly Father…

At this moment, we want to set aside every thought and distraction so we can be wholly present before you. We ask for your Holy Spirit to be upon us and to fill us. May we be filled with joy and wonder at the blessing of being able to come boldly to your throne of grace. Thank you for never turning us away…for never being too busy for us…for never being unconcerned about the things that concern us. We thank you for your loving heart of compassion towards us. We ask for forgiveness of our sins. Please heal us in every area of our lives and help us to be more like Jesus. Please change our hearts, so we want you, more than we want anything in this world.

Today, may we see you and feel your presence around us. May we know fellowship with you, like we’ve never known before. Help us to cling to your promises. Help us to remember that you promise when we come to you, you will give us rest… that when we seek you, we will find you…that you hear us when we call to you…that you are near to the broken-hearted…that you bind our wounds…that you direct our paths…that you will provide for our every need…that you will give strength to the weak…that you will encamp your angels around us…that you will be our help in times of trouble… that you will be our fortress and refuge…that no one can snatch us from your hand…

We ask for your power to overcome any and all obstacles, fears, negative thoughts, or any form of adversity that may come against us this day. Help us to remember that we are not alone, and you are with us always, even unto the end of the world. May your words encourage us, strengthen and empower us and fill us with hope. May we be people after your own heart…men and women who bring glory and honor to your name. Thank you for your faithfulness… for your unconditional love…for seeing past all that we are now, to what we will be. In the precious name of Jesus, we pray, Amen.

May you feel the Lord’s comfort and nearness today, friends!
Much love in Him,
Debbie
