Prayer for January 26th
Good Morning Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Dear Heavenly Father,
As we look at this picture, we’re reminded of the words from the Christmas song…”all is calm, all is bright.” Even though Christmas was a month ago, we’re reminded that we are to carry Christmas in our hearts all year. We are to carry with us, the meaning of that Silent Night. We are to carry with us year round, the calmness and the brightness that was given to us that day, when the world received a Savior. Oh, Lord, we don’t want the things of the world to crowd out the room we make in our hearts for Christ at Christmas time. May our hearts continually be enlarged, so we can become more like Jesus.
Lord, how often the enemy tries to keep us from claiming what rightfully belongs to children of the King. He tries to steal our joy. He tries to steal our peace. He tries to steal the comfort, peace and calm that can and should belong to us, no matter what our circumstances or situation. Christ came to give us life and life more abundantly…that is for all eternity…that includes now.
That life abundant does not mean riches or things that the world can take away. The abundant life that is offered when we make Christ our Savior, is something the world cannot offer, or take away. Riches will not last. Our youth, bodies and health will fail us. But what is from Christ will last… will not fade away and is incorruptible.
We are offered Christ’s peace that passes all understanding. We have as one of the greatest gifts we can receive, peace regardless of our circumstances…a peace that the world cannot give or understand and that peace cannot be taken away from us…the only way we lose it is when we give it up willingly and surrender it to the things of this world like fear and worry.
Lord, may we carry that feeling that comes with Christmas every day in our hearts. May we have that peace and serenity. Help us to feel your calmness and stillness no matter what we face. Lord, we are broken hurting people, but there is power in Your name. There is healing in Your name. There is Hope in Your name. Yours is the name above all names and You are our strength and our song.
Lord, You allow trials in our lives not to discourage us, but to know you in ways we’ve never known and cannot know in the good times. Trials and losses are not meant to be easy, but they are meant to draw us close to You. They are allowed, so we can tap into Your power and Your strength when we are weak. Lord, we don’t want to fail. We don’t want to stay stuck in our pain and our grief and our brokenness. We don’t want to fixate on what we don’t have, we want to rejoice in all we do have. We want to remember that this life is just to prepare us for what lies ahead. We grieve, but not as those who have no hope. Our suffering is creating an opportunity for you to show yourself to us and to show us how great and mighty you are…You are awesome in power and mighty to save Lord.
Lord though the world may storm and rage around us, may all be calm and bright in our hearts this day. Thank you that we are more than conquerors in You Lord. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen
Blessings be upon you in the name of Jesus friends!
Much love in Him,
