Prayer for December 9th

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Lord,

Thank you for the strength you give us to get through our days. Lord, when you were here on earth you taught us by word and example. You found the need to be alone and the need for rest. Our Dear Lord, if you needed time to rest and be with your Father, then how much more must we?… but, so many times we feel guilty for needing to rest. There is always so much to do, but it’s healthy and necessary for us to take time out and recharge. It helps us to cope better, to heal better and to be able to do  more in the long run. Help each of us to make time for rest, relaxation and fellowship with you and those we love. Give us the wisdom to know how to make this happen in our lives, Lord.

We pray Lord, for the discipline to rest in you. We ask this especially during this Christmas season. The demands on our time increase and the things that usually suffer the most are our sleep and our time with you. Lord, please help us to keep our priorities straight. May we remember the reason for the season and adjust our calendar and schedules in a way that glorifies you…help us to remember that pleasing you, should take precedence and matter above all else.

Lord, we ask for help for all the single parents, caregivers and the people who have to rush home from work to take care of  an endless list of responsibilities at home. We ask that you bring  help in the form of people who see a need and are moved with compassion to serve as unto you. Lord, for all those who are having to work extra jobs or extra hours to make ends meet, we pray you would make a way for them, Lord. For all those who struggle with illness and injury and it causes diminished energy and their “to do” just keeps growing and it creates a sense of constantly being behind and feeling like their best just isn’t good enough…. we ask for your divine help and intervention. Lord, for all the situations that don’t have easy solutions and seem hopeless, we call on you to do what only you can do, Lord…please make the crooked places straight and  the rough roads smooth.

Lord, we are asking for you to meet the needs of each one here….for healing, for provision, for release…whatever the need is, we ask that you would meet it. Give each of us the strength, energy and courage to face our problems and cares head on. We know you are beside us and that you are faithful and we thank you in advance for your loving provision.

Please go before us this day and  the new week  ahead and may we feel a burst of strength and power as you fill us with Your Spirit. May we find joy in our hearts when we think of your birth and all that means for us. In  the name of Jesus  we ask these things, Amen.

Much love in Him,
Debbie
