Prayer for December 11th

December 11, 2013

Hello, Friends! Here is today’s prayer…

Our Father God…

We need you, Lord! We need you every hour, every minute, of every day. We need you like the air that we breathe. We thank you, that there is no where we can go, that you are not with us. We thank you, that with your help, there is no mountain too high to climb. We thank you that with your help, there is no pit so deep, that we cannot rise up out of it. We thank you, that though our bodies are withering away, you are renewing our minds and bodies daily and we are trading things that are corruptible, with things that are eternal.

Lord, fill our minds this day with thoughts of you. Replace the feelings of being isolated and alone with a strong sense of your nearness and presence. May we know beyond all doubt, that the Creator of all, calls us “friend” and promises to never leave our side…you promise to be closer than a brother and you will never abandon us when we face our own “Garden of Gethsemane” moments.

Father, help us to remember when we have needs that are looming large and deadlines that are fast approaching, that you are the God that took a few fish and loaves of bread and created enough to feed thousands…You brought up a fish with a coin in its mouth to meet a need…You provided daily from air, manna to feed your children on their long journey…you turned water to wine…and you filled pots to overflowing with oil for a widow to pay her debts…there is nothing impossible for you, Lord…and what you did then, you do now, even if it’s in less obvious ways…you are the God of the impossible, the Faithful One, who promises to provide for His children….but you allow things to happen, just like you did in all those situations… to show yourself powerful and to show yourself as our provider, so we learn to trust you…so we learn not to fear…so we learn not to rely on ourselves or on others, but to lean wholly and completely on you…Lord, help us to learn our lessons well, so we may rest in, rely on and completely trust you to fulfill your every promise to us. Lord, we put our needs into your hands and we wait on you and depend on you, with open arms and with child like faith.

God, speak to our hearts. Pour your grace upon the weary…upon the hurting…upon the ill…upon those who are overwhelmed…upon those who feel unloved and rejected…we come before you and reach out to touch the hem of your garment today, Lord. We bow before you and say “heal us Lord, that we may be healed.”

Lord, you are great and mighty and we are weak and know that we are nothing without you…we will never comprehend why you would choose us…why you would long to clothe us in righteousness and to remove our sins and make us pure and holy, by the blood of your precious Son…we will never understand so much…all we can say is “thank you”…thank you for meeting us where we are at and not leaving us here. Thank you, for your indescribable gifts and your great care of us. May the wonder of Christmas and the good news that filled the earth because of Christ’s birth, continually fill our hearts and our spirit’s with an overwhelming sense of how much we are loved and what incredible lengths you go to, to save a lost and dying world.

We love you, Lord. We thank you that we are held firmly in your hand and that we are safe and cared for. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

May you feel how wonderfully loved you are today!

In His love,

Debbie Kay, Hope For The Broken Hearted
