Prayer for December 13th

December 13, 2013

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Heavenly Father,

As we come together today, many have heavy hearts because of loved ones who are dying or are very ill. Many are broken from the loss of those they hold dear. Others are just floundering… uncertain of how to move forward with the chaos that is in their lives… from illness, unexpected bad news, poverty, tragedies and so much more. Many are so battle weary…they just want to go home to you… so they can leave the cares of this world behind.

Father, there is a song that says,”When I am weary, filled with despair.Who gives me courage to go on from there? And who gives me faith that will never die, Somebody bigger than you and I.” We need someone bigger than us, Father. We need someone  larger than our burdens and cares…someone to hug us and comfort us and to tell us that everything is going to be alright…someone that will be our champion, protector and comforter…we need you, Father.

Lord, some days are just harder than others. Some days we just need to have a good cry and let all the stress and tension and sadness out. Some times…Lord,  we just need to picture ourselves laying our head on your shoulder and just resting in your shelter and comfort… At this moment, Father, we are laying aside all that threatens to overtake us…we are taking a deep breath, and exhaling all the hard stuff, and breathing in your peace… we ask for your peace to calm us like a soft, gentle breeze…we’re asking to feel your nearness, Abba Father. Sometimes, it’s just enough to feel your presence and to know that we’re not alone and that you are catching our tears and loving us through our pain.

Father, life is hard enough with you…we can’t imagine going through these things without you…Spirit of the Living God, please fall afresh on us at this very moment. Give us your courage to go forward this day.  Abba, lead us in the way we should go. Help us not to strive, worry or fear…let us rest this day in your loving arms. Thank you, for being our faithful, Father…thank you, for never letting go of us. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Praying God’s peace that passes all understanding to fill you all!

Big hugs and much love,
Debbie
