Prayer for December 19th

December 19, 2013

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Heavenly Father,

We thank you for being our light in the darkness. Sometimes we feel lost and alone in this world. The enemy would have us believe that we are too insignificant for you to be bothered with. He whispers deceitful lies in our ears telling us if you cared, we would not be going through such tough times and such pain. But your word tells us, that you number the stars and you call each one by name. You tell us that you know each one of us by name as well and that you care for us… and because of your great love for us, we can be called your children. You number the very hairs on our head, and you see each tear that falls. May these words bring comfort to each heart that is questioning your love for them.

Lord, may we believe the truth and not the lies. You are our beacon in the night. You lead us to the shelter of still waters and safe harbors. Nothing extinguishes your light, Lord. Darkness cannot quench your light, it can only make it shine brighter.  Your light turns darkness to daylight and by your light, we clearly see all things.

Your word says in Romans that, “The night is nearly over; the day is almost here.” Lord, we know that a bright new day is coming. You are not slow to answer. Your timing is perfect and you alone have sovereign control over all things. It is always darkest before the dawn and you promise to turn our mourning to joy…you don’t just replace the sadness Lord, you turn it into joy. Only you can do that.

Lord, there are so many that are discouraged today…so many who are aching with deep sorrow and pain. We ask for your Holy Spirit, to breathe on each one of us. May each of us feel your presence…. May we feel your nearness Lord and know that the same right hand that holds the stars in place upholds us as well. Please draw us ever closer to you Lord… hide us safely in your  shelter and cast away the evil one who longs to destroy us. We know that you will redeem all that he has brought against us for good Lord.

We cling to the hope, that the day of your return is drawing ever closer and the things of this world will fade in the light of your glory and grace. Lord, please give us more of you to fill the broken places in our heart’s… may we feel your joy and be warmed by your light and love. We praise you and bow before you, Lord. We thank you that we have a Savior in whose name we can ask these things. Amen.

Blessings be upon you friends!

Much love in Him,
