Prayer for January 15th

January 15, 2014

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Lord,

We are so grateful to have a God that is greater than any threat we face. We read in your word, over and over, to not be afraid, for you are with us. You do things to show us your power…to show us that you are in control…to teach us not to be afraid. There are so many lessons to be learned from the story of the Red Sea. When you took your children to the Red Sea, that was not the direct route. There were other routes that were more direct to where they were going…but you wanted to teach your children not to be afraid of their enemies…AND you wanted to show their enemies, that you protect those that belong to you. You brought both sides to a place that everyone could clearly see that you are God… that you are in control, that you protect your children and you fulfill your promises.

Lord, fear and faith go hand in hand. If we never had to come up against things that scare us, or fill us with dread, we would know less about faith and trusting you. Our faith must be tried and tested. You want us to view things through the eyes of faith…we need to see things through your eyes and understand, that sometimes you allow things to happen to us…just so we can see you work and know that our faith is not misplaced in you. You want us to have first hand knowledge of how much you love us and that there is a reason for everything we go through. You take us on the back routes and sometimes go slowly… usually, more slowly than we would like … but we must learn that whatever you do…whatever you allow… is for a purpose and is motivated by your love for us.  You want us to know… not just from reading, but from experience… that no weapon formed against us can prosper.

Lord, we have so much to learn, but we want to be teachable. We want to have unshakable faith that does not waver and that is bold. We want to have the kind of trust that allows us to say “even though I don’t understand, I trust and know my Father and His character and that is all I need to know.” Please pour out your wisdom and knowledge upon us Lord, so we can understand your will and walk in a way pleasing to you. Please pour out your Holy Spirit, that we may have Holy boldness to persevere through the difficult things in life. Please increase our faith, so no matter what the world may throw at us, we will not lose hope… so we will not question where you are…so we will rest in your promises and truth. Mold us and teach us Lord, we are yours. We love you and adore you. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen

May His grace rain down on you!

Much love in Him,
Debbie
