Prayer for January 18th

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Heavenly Father,

Some days, we come to you and we just have heavy hearts. We see all the suffering in our world and we know we are helpless to do anything. When we see all that is wrong around us…people that are cruel, heartless hurtful or dishonest… we are reminded that we live in a sinful world. On the hard days Lord, we think of one of the shortest sentences in the Bible, which simply said, “Jesus wept.” Lord, you know what it is like to weep. Surely, your heart must grieve every day over the sin, hurt, pain and suffering that exists here. How often you must say, “this is not how I intended things to be.”

Lord, for everyone that is having a hard time today… for whatever reason… we ask that you would just envelop them with your Holy Spirit and your loving embrace. May they feel a heavenly cocoon of warmth and love surround them. May they picture you cradling them, hugging them and reassuring them, that everything will be okay. Lord, sometimes, we just have to let the dam burst and let the tears fall and flush the hurts from our system. Perhaps you allow these times, Lord, just so we can fall into your arms and know that you are the one, that catches us when we fall …you are the one, that holds us up when we are weak… and you are the one, that carries us when we are just too bruised and weary to even move.

Lord, help us to make the time to rest at your feet each day. In the stillness and in the solitude, may we be ministered to by you. Help us to envision a safe place where we can go to be surrounded by your warmth, joy, peace and love. Lord, please, refresh us. Please give us relief from the battles of life. Please, gather to yourself, all that are worn down from constant pain and illness. Please hold in your loving embrace all that are battle weary and overwhelmed by the cares of this world. Lord, you promise to give rest to the weary and so we are claiming that promise today. We, thank you and we praise you for your greatness, faithfulness and goodness. In the name above all names we pray, Amen.

Hope you have a blessed, refreshing and peaceful weekend!

Much love in Him,
Debbie Kay

that prayer for January 18th,.. was so perfect. I just got through sitting in my rocking chair last night and the Lord gave me Psalm 91 to read and He kept speaking to my heart that He was carrying me and that I was safe in His arms. Then when I woke up this morning, there was a text on my cell phone from a friend of mine and she gave me a verse from Psalm 139… once again so appropriate cause I am feeling weaker than I ever have before and it was scaring me, and the Lord kept reassuring me He was there with me!! 🙂
