Prayer for January 19th

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come to you and we thank you for your faithfulness and your patience with us. As parents, we ask our children to do things that they don’t understand…we ask them to trust and obey us because we love them and we have their best interest at heart… you ask us to do the same thing as our Heavenly Father. You ask us to trust and obey you, because you only want what’s best for us and because you are wiser and all-knowing and you see down the road that we cannot see.

Sometimes, we trust willingly and we are compliant just because you are our Heavenly Father…but many times we protest and argue with you…we complain that if you loved us you wouldn’t make us endure such hardship. We question if you’ve forgotten us, because we feel that we can’t possibly endure anymore pain. It’s after we’ve been through things, that we see you allowed things to happen, just to show how much you do love us…we get it backwards at times…you long to give us more of yourself…you long to draw us closer to you and show us your provision and steadfast love. You never neglect us Lord…you never forsake us…you never allow us to go through something that won’t be used for a greater purpose.

We think of the many examples in the Bible of people who you asked to do incredible things…Abraham offering Isaac…Joshua walking around the walls of Jericho….Noah building the ark…you asked them to do these things that seemed beyond impossible … and when they were faithful and obedient, they were rewarded with miracles. These men become heirs of righteousness, according to their faith.

Father, you want us to have child like faith so we learn that you will not fail us… so we see that you have a plan for our good that is beyond anything we could dare to dream or imagine. Lord, forgive us for our doubts and our fears. Help us to remember all the examples you’ve given us of people after your own heart…. people who became heirs of righteousness, because of their faith. Help us to remember your miracles. Help us to look around our world and see all the things that were once thought to be impossible, but because of faith and perseverance, dreams and goals were realized… things were built and created… and lives changed for the better. Lord, help us to trust without question and find your peace despite our circumstances. We ask these things in Jesus name. Amen

Blessings be upon you all!
In His love,
Debbie
