Prayer for January 27th

January 27, 2014

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Heavenly Father,

We are grateful to have this chance to pray once again. Prayer is so important. You tell us to pray without ceasing. We know that prayer, praise and worship, bring us into your presence… and that is where we want to be, Lord. We ask today, that you would speak to us. We ask Lord, for your guidance…for your wisdom and for your discernment. We seek to know your will and direction for every area of our lives. We ask Lord, for the motivation, determination, the drive and the perseverance that’s necessary to reach our goals in our spiritual walks, for our healing, for our financial situations and in our relationships.

Lord, it’s not enough to just pray…we need to take steps of faith to get where we need to be in our lives as well. What that looks like, is different for each of us…but your Word tells us not to be just hearers of the Word, but to be doers as well. We must put our faith into action…we must trust and believe that all things are possible through you. It only takes faith the size of a mustard seed to do mountain moving miracles. Sometimes those first steps are the hardest and most difficult, but you help us handle all that is before us… we can do everything through your power and your might.

Lord, help us to drown out the voices of the enemy and those who would see us stay stuck where we are at. Help us to believe the things that you say, instead of the inner voice that tells us that we will fail. Help us to reject the thoughts that tell us we will never get better. Help us cast off the thoughts that tell us that there is no hope and that there can be no change. We pray for faith to believe in the things that we can’t yet see, but yet you promise to us as your children. Help us to believe that there is healing and a hope filled future for us. Help us to believe that you are faithful to meet our every need. Help us to keep putting one foot in front of the other and give us your strength to keep getting up each time we fall, or have a set back.

We think of people like Thomas Edison who failed 10,000 times before he got the light bulb right….Richard Branson who was Dyslexic and told that he would never amount to anything….Albert Einstein who was told he was stupid…Charles Shulz who was told he couldn’t draw and was rejected by Disney as an artist… and Walt Disney who was told he would never succeed, because he was too much of a dreamer…All of these examples tell us that people can be wrong in their opinions…these examples show how people can put labels on us and judge us harshly… these examples show us that we must not give up, we must persevere and we must not let failure or rejection decide what is possible for us… we must not let the words and opinions of others define us…we must find our potential and our sense of worth in what you think of us and what you believe we are capable of. You determine our steps, Lord and you often have greater things planned for us than we could ever imagine for ourselves.

Help us to have courage to step out in faith so we might not miss out on the blessings you have for us, Lord. There is healing in your name, Lord and we reach out to receive it. We long to be all that you want us to be. Help us to pray big and believe big and to trust that your will and your ways our best. We may not see a way now to get to where we need to be… but all we need to see is you… if we submit to you and trust you, you will faithfully lead us, guide us and empower us for what you’ve called us to. We ask for your blessing and strength today, Lord. In the name of Jesus we ask these things, Amen.

May your week be blessed friends!

In His love,

This is an awesome prayer… I’m pulling this excerpt for my meditation throughout the day:
“We may not see a way now to get to where we need to be… but all we need to see is you”
