Prayer for February 6th

February 6, 2014

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Our Father,

We are so grateful that you are the God of redemption. We praise you because you are the God of miracles. We thank you for taking the least likely people and unimaginable events, and transform what was dark and wrong, into things that have been purified and restored for your glory.

We think of Moses and David who both murdered men and yet they found redemption. You used them in such profound ways. We think of Rahab, who was a prostitute and she found redemption as she saved Joshua’s spies. She changed her ways and became an ancestor in Jesus’ lineage. You transformed and redeemed Saul, from someone who relentlessly and brutally persecuted Christians and thought himself righteous for doing so, into the Apostle Paul who became one of your most devout and loyal followers. Paul’s story should give us hope that our friends and family that are so adamant in their disbelief, can in one split second have their eyes opened to the truth of who you are.

Lord, when we think of these people who have gone before us, it should give us hope. Surely, you are the God that loves those that society would shun…but you are the God of 2nd chances. You are the God that takes what the devil meant for harm and you transform it into something good…something that brings you glory. We should find encouragement in these examples.

Thank you, Lord, for taking our sins and our failings and washing us clean in the blood of Jesus. Thank you, Lord, for taking our brokenness and pain and transforming it into something that has purpose and beauty. We may not see that now, but what you did before with your beloved children, you still do…you are the same yesterday, today and forever and your promises stay true. You promise to redeem and restore… and we can count on that, Lord. Thank you for your mercy, Father.

Lord, you know that we will stumble and yet you still call us your children… You know that there will be things like divorce, infidelity, addictions, backsliding, unbelief, doubt, betrayal, promiscuity, and yet you already have a plan in motion to cleanse us, renew us and use the things that would have destroyed us, to be a testimony to your life changing power. You waste nothing in our lives Lord.

Lord, we thank you for the unseen things you are doing in our lives and the lives of those we love. May these stories cause us to faithfully lift our loved ones in prayer and to not give up on them. You do what no man can do, Lord… you delight in our faithful, fervent prayers…they change us in the process and the faith of many grows as we see the answers fulfilled.

Lord, we look forward with excited anticipation for the things you are working in our lives and the lives of those we love. May our faith grow stronger and more anchored in you as remember that you are faithful to complete the work that you have begun in us. With gratitude we pray today, in the name of Jesus, Amen.

May you be filled with His hope today friends!

In His love,
