Prayer for February 21st

February 21, 2014

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Lord,
Your word says, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.” You tell us that those who drink from your living water will never thirst…that your living water will be as a fountain to us and spring up into eternal life. Lord, help those who are floundering and who have wandered from you…help them to remember the joy of their salvation. May they call to you to fill the dry, barren places in their hearts that have grown parched without your word and living water. Help them to return to the love they first had for you. The enemy seeks to distract us in times of grief and trouble. He has us focus on the dry places, the losses, the unfairness of life and the pain….he knows that if we focus on you and the life changing and sustaining water that you offer, he will be the loser. We cannot stay dry or be thirsty for things of the world, when we are filled up with your living water!

Help us to rejoice in you Lord, regardless of our circumstances. Even if we were to lose every material thing and comfort this world has to offer, we have you and our salvation… and that alone deserves us giving you praise and adoration. We were created to worship you, Lord. May we never lose sight of our purpose. We make so many “things and cares” our priority, but nothing is more important than you…or our praising you. When we praise you in our storms, that praise is life transforming. When we praise you, you change us…you are pleased with us… and take delight in us. You will dwell with us and we will see miracles and healing when we enter into this place of worship, fellowship and thanksgiving with you.

Lord, help us to cease striving to make our plans and desires happen. We pray that we will be so full of You that we will find contentment in your plan for our lives. When we feast on your living water and your bread of life, we become full of you. We no longer have an insatiable need to fill our lives with things… the only longing will be for more of you. Help us to get to that place of fulfillment and contentment, Lord. Please continue the healing, life changing work you are doing in all of us. Fill up the broken places with more of you. Fill up the lonely hearts with a sense of completeness in you. Fill up the weak hearts with a sense of your strength in them. Heal the battered, bruised and beat up hearts with your healing balm.

Lord, you are the God of reversals. You change things. You restore things. You give back ten fold what the enemy takes away and tries to destroy. We come to you today Lord, hungry and thirsty for more of you. Fill us Lord we pray as we give you praise for who you are and for all you have done for us and for all that you’ve yet to do. You are not done with us Lord or we would not be here…help us cling to that….you will complete the work you’ve started in us! With gratitude and appreciation and anticipation for the changes that are coming, we pray in the name of Jesus. Amen

May your weekend be blessed!
Much love in Him,
Debbie

I am extremely grateful for this support, can I just mention that I am from South Africa & I get this correspondence 1 day late. Eg. Today is the 22 February, but I receive the 21 February email. Is it possible to correct this? Blessings Odette Slabbert – oeslabbert@gmail.com

Hi, Odette- I’m afraid it is due to the time difference in our countries. I write them and post them according to the time zone that I am in and I cannot customize them or make them work for every time zone at once. WordPress handles the delivery via email. Sorry this is a problem 🙂 Love, Debbie
