Prayer for March 9th

March 9, 2014

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Heavenly Father,

Today  as we gather to pray, we ask that you would help those who struggle with things that are out of  their control. We can’t force people to make good decisions, Lord. We can’t make others love us or treat us right. We can’t make others see the need for you or the destructiveness of their actions. Only you can do those things.

Lord, for all who have prayed faithfully for others and have yet to see their prayers answered, we ask for comfort and assurance that you do hear their prayers. Many wonder if they use the wrong words or if you just don’t hear their prayers…but you hear every prayer, no matter how simple or short. It’s not the words that matter…it’s the intent of the heart behind the words…you hear the prayers that are no more than a groan, as the Holy Spirit intercedes when the words just won’t come. Help each of us to realize that prayer is about surrendering to your will. It’s letting go of our expectations and desires and praying, “not my will, but Thy will be done, Lord.” Help us to believe and trust in your timing and that your ways are best…that you know what is needed and what is best in each life and situation we lift up to you. Help us learn how to be diligent and steadfast. Some battles are won on our knees and the battle may be long. Help us to have tenacious, persistent faith, Lord. Your word says the faithful, fervent prayers of a righteous man does much. Help us to become persistent intercessors… you never force your will on anyone…so it may take years for the loved ones we pray for to open their eyes and their hearts so you can answer those prayers…but we are to keep knocking, seeking, trusting, asking and believing that you will answer according to your will and in your time and you will do everything you can for our loved ones…you love them more than we do and you have only their best interests at heart.

Lord, help each of us to trust you with our circumstances, all of our needs and with those we love…   You tell us in your word that ALL things work together for good for those who love you and are called according to your purpose. We believe that Lord and we know that includes everything we are going through and dealing with now.  Faith is believing in what we can’t  yet see… you are always trying to grow, stretch and increase our faith, Lord…and that usually happens in times of waiting and learning to trust you…we would have very shallow faith if every time we prayed we saw instant answers.

Lord, we give you our worry, anxiety and fear and we trust the outcome of everything we are praying for to you. We want you to decide the outcome that is best for each of our situations. We give you all of our cares, problems and pain and lay it all at your feet…these things are all in your hands now and we surrender to your will Lord, knowing that you want only the best for us and you do all things well.  We trust you Lord and we pray that we all will truly feel your peace, as we let go of our expectations and the things we can’t control and wait on you. We love you Lord. We praise you. We ask these things in Jesus’ Holy name, Amen.

Blessings be upon you all!
Much love in Him,
