Prayer for March 18th

March 18, 2014

Hello, Friends! Here is today’s prayer…

Dear Lord,

As we come together today, we pray for everyone that is discouraged and feeling weary. We ask Lord, that you would let your joy and grace rain down on them and refresh them.  We pray for those who feel shame…we  ask that you would release them and help them to not be held captive by their past… or by abusive, hurtful words that  have robbed them of their sense of self-worth.

Lord, for every one that has been told they should just “get over” their grief… for every one who has been made to feel that the bad things that have happened to them are their own fault… we ask that you would take away the sting of clueless words and actions. For everyone who has been told to just suck it up and quit crying… we speak healing in the name of Jesus over them…may they find comfort from your Word which assures us that grief and crying are a normal and natural response to loss.

Oh, Lord bring your healing balm to every wounded heart and mind.  Please break the tape that repetitively plays the painful memories from the past. Replace those images and words with your healing truth.

We pray for those who have bought into the lies of society that make them feel like they are failures because they do not lead the life that others consider successful. We pray for those who think because they are single or divorced that there must be something wrong with them. We pray for each person who has suffered at the hands of verbal bullies taunting them with distorted and misplaced truth and lies. Oh, Lord, set each one free from the pain and the chains that have been placed on them. For those who have felt that they don’t live up to what they should look like by the media’s standards… and for those who had that re-enforced by rejection, please help their self-esteem, Lord. Help them to realize you make everyone in your own likeness and you do not make mistakes.  Lord, we pray for all who deal with illness and physical and emotional pain and they must deal with those who do not understand what they go through, please be their shield,  their comforter and their healer.

Lord, we pray for every person that is verbally, mentally, or emotionally abusive. Please open their eyes so they can see a need for repentant change. If there is abuse or hurts in their past that  they need to deal with so they can  be healed, we ask for revelation and  healing and we ask that you would break the cycle and the chains, Lord. We pray for all the loved ones whose painful ways are fueled by addictions. Please set them free, Lord and deliver them so there can be healing for all.

We know we are all works in progress…  Help us to see the love of Jesus shining forth in each other and to recognize that beauty when we meet. May our words bring healing and encouragement to others.  Lord, set the captives free and let the healing, cleansing, renewing and restoration begin today. Thank you that we can count on you to complete the good work you have begun in each of us. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen

In His love,
