Prayer For April 2nd

April 2, 2014

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Heavenly Father,

As we come to you today there are so many events in the news that are causing pain, distress, and uncertainty for so many. We lift up to you the people of Chili who have been hit with this big earthquake. We thank you that so far there has not been a big tsunami. Thank you for protecting them from that possible disaster. We ask for comfort…especially for children and the elderly and those who have lost loved ones and those who have been displaced from their homes. May people feel your presence and your comfort, Lord.

We lift up to you the families from the missing Malaysian plane. Father, we ask that you would guide the searchers to find some trace or clue of what has happened, so the families can find some sense of peace. Lord, we don’t know what has happened, but you do. We pray that these anguished loved ones of the missing would find comfort from you…we ask for those who don’t know you that their eyes would be opened and that they would find you waiting with open arms to hold them and to bind the wounds that now surely must feel like they will never heal.

We pray for the families in WA who have lost loved ones and their homes in the landslide in WA…we pray for those with loved ones whose bodies have not been recovered…oh, Father, there is so much pain in these situations and we just ask that you would be so real and so present in all these places…we just ask that each hurting heart might find hope in you and your strength to carry on.

Lord, so much happens in this life that we have no control over. All of these events remind us that life can change in a split second…it reminds us that we mustn’t take one single day for granted…help us to get our lives and priorities right. Help us not to put off until to tomorrow the things that we need to say and do in our relationships and in our lives. Lord, none of us is guaranteed tomorrow and none of us knows the day or the hour of your return. We should not live in fear, but we should live our lives with an eternal perspective.

Lord, for each hurting heart that is praying with us now, we ask for your grace, peace and mercy to rain down upon them. For each person who is ill or in pain, we ask for your healing hand to be upon them. For each person who is in financial need…for those in need of a place to live…in need of a job…in need of resources that they don’t have…Lord, please go before them and open doors and smooth the rough roads and please open your store houses on their behalf.

Lord, for everyone who is dealing with estranged loved ones, or troubled relationships, Lord, please impart your wisdom and discernment. Please lead and guide them and give them peace and guidance so they will know if they are to keep trying, or just accept what is and walk away knowing they have done all they can do and they now must leave the other person in your hands.

Lord, life is hard, but you are good…you are faithful…the enemy is a roaring, prowling lion…always looking for weak and vulnerable areas where he can attack us, but you have removed his teeth, Lord…he has been defeated and he knows it….help us to remember that as well, Lord. Help us to focus on you and not the things we are going through. Help us to be strong with your might…Help us to face the hard stuff in life knowing that we are afflicted, but not crushed and we need not live in despair.

Please meet every need, spoken and unspoken we pray, Lord. We thank you in advance for all you will do on our behalf. In the name of our Savior, Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Blessings, hugs and love to you friends!

Debbie

Mike- we all have equal importance.and I will gladly continue to pray for you. I know it gets discouraging when there seems to be no relief in sight…believe me, I understand from personal experience… but more importantly God understands. I don’t know if this will encourage you or not Mike,, but the enemy knows his time is short and everyone I know is suffering on multiple levels. I know you feel like you are alone, but you are definitely not in what you are going through. The enemy is stepping up his attacks and he is trying to render us ineffective and to discourage us…that’s his tactic…if he can’t get us to turn our backs on God then he wants us to feel so discouraged we just want to give up. Mike, please look up. God is faithful. The great people of faith who went before us in the Bible…they suffered greatly…think of the apostles…they suffered in every area of their lives…there’s Job, Joseph and so many more. The Bible tells us that their stories were written in the Bible to encourage us. God is with you my friend…He promises to never leave you and he understands your feelings and frustrations and all you are suffering, but He wants to do something spiritual for you through these things….and the spiritual aspect of our lives and preparing us for eternity is His number one priority. He has allowed everything into your life for a reason and it’s so you can know Him in ways that you have not known Him before. God promises to redeem what the enemy meant for harm and He promises to work all things together for good for those who love Him. It’s just His timing is rarely ours. Another note of encouragement is the scriptures say even though our earthly bodies are deteriorating every day, we are being renewed spiritually daily…He is working an eternal weight of glory for each of us and He is faithful to complete what He has begun in us. I know it’s not easy. My health has been drastically deteriorating the last couple of years,..our financial situation has been dire…but through it all, God is so faithful and I have grown closer to Him and come to know Him in way I’ve never known before…He is so faithful and so good. My dear friend, God is bigger than anything we face, but we have to keep our eyes on God and not the problems if we are to survive and we have to let the joy of the Lord be our strength. He will see you through Mike. Cling to Him…lay your frustrations and your expectations and needs and desires on the altar and tell God you know He has a good plan for you and you will trust Him and ask Him for His grace, strength and courage to endure all you are facing and ask Him to help you find the joy in the day and to find peace in the midst of the storm. Ask Him to show Himself to you in ways you’ve never known before. The same power that gave Christ the power to rise from the dead is in you…you are an overcoming child of the King…you may not feel that, but it’s the truth and the enemy wants you to forget..he’s trying to wear you down and make you take your eyes off God and to feel overwhelmed.. Read Ephesians 6 about the armor of God and visually and mentally put it on each morning before your feet hit the floor and then ask God to help you trust that he will meet your needs as he promises and to help you remove all fear…watch what happens…your circumstances may not change, but your attitude will change and it will help you to endure…anything God has allowed into your life Mike, God wants to use for some benefit in your life. Praying for you and praying you will have a new sense of God’s power and strength in your life. Love and hugs to you my brother! Praying for you!!
