Prayer for July 31st

July 31, 2014

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Heavenly Father,

You tell us to come boldly to your throne of grace and Lord we are following that advice today. Lord, for too long, too many of us have stood by while the enemy has taunted us and discouraged us. For too long, we have listened to the enemy lie and  tell us that we have no power… that we are victims that have no recourse. For too long, many have been defeated by their sins…by their pasts…by their brokenness… by the mantles of guilt and shame that others have placed upon them. For too long, many have believed that they must stand idly by and remain silent to keep the peace…yet they have watched sin and evil consume, divide and conquer those around them.

Father, there comes  a time when you call your children to rise up and speak the truth. Just as Christ had Holy anger in the temple and overturned those tables, there is a time when we are to stand for  truth and for righteousness. There is a time to put on our armor and face the enemy instead of avoiding him. There comes a time when we need to face sin and wrong doing and say “I rebuke you in the name of Jesus, get behind me satan.” There comes a time when we need to care enough to speak God’s truth with authority and say “this is not okay, according to Jesus and I cannot stay silent any longer”.

We pray for deliverance and we pray against the things that come against us. Sometimes we are called to stand boldly like David did with Goliath. Sometimes we are called to slay our giants with the help of our mighty God. Sometimes, we have to defeat those things that rise against us to make us helpless and ineffective so we can move forward

Lord,we ask that you would fill us with your strength and boldness today. May your grace and power  rain down on us and fill us, like the cracks on a drought laden land, drink in the rain. Fill us to overflowing, Lord. May we make a stand for our families. May we take a stand for our loved ones who are lost and rebelling. Help us fight on every level the addictions and the spiritual forces that try to lay claim to our lives and the lives of those we love. May we break the chains of oppression that keep us feeling hopeless and helpless. Oh, Lord God, stir our hearts within us. Let your righteousness and holiness rise up within us so that we shout “no more!” May we decide that today is the day for change and for victory and for staking claim on all the promises that you have given your children. How many prayers do you have answers to that no one has bothered to pray? How many victories are waiting to be won by people who think they don’t stand a chance? How many enemies could be defeated if we only had the courage to say “here I am Lord, I am weak but you are strong, take me and use me.”

God, make us people after your own hearts. Remind us that the days are short and there is much to do. The enemy is raging against us, but we are not  at His mercy. Let us rise triumphantly from the muck and mire to stand as warriors of God. Help us Lord, we pray. Empower us to do your will and bidding. May we go out boldly to face all that is in front of us today…not by our might or power, but by yours. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

You are not victims my friends, you are victors because of Christ Jesus!
Blessings be upon you in His name!
Always in Him,
Debbie
