Daily Prayer for August 1st

August 1, 2014

New Zealand

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Father God,

Your  thoughts and ways are so different from ours…we ask for wisdom and for knowledge Father, so we can better serve you and live a life pleasing to you. The world looks up to those who are strong, and powerful…  But you  can do nothing with a proud person who thinks they are so self-sufficient that they don’t need you. You choose to work through the broken and the weak. You want us to be empty of ourselves. In our humanness, we mourn and grieve and think we should be ashamed to say, “I am weak, I can’t do this, I need you, Lord”…but our weakness is the preparation that you need to fill us with your power and strength…our brokenness, allows you  to lift us up and sustain us. You do not value what the world values…you value a broken and contrite heart.

Lord, so many times you have shown us in your word, how you use the foolish things of the world to confound the wise. You chose Moses, a man with a speech impediment to speak for you to your people. You chose a young shepherd boy to slay a giant, so you could show age or size does not matter when you are by our side. You gave Joshua’s army the battle plan of walking around the walls of Jericho to bring it down…You are always showing us that you think outside of the box, so that your power can be manifested in our weakness.

Lord, as people grieve, mourn, hurt and struggle, may these words fill them with hope…you aren’t done with them yet. Their brokenness is preparing them for what you have next for them. Their brokenness makes them worthy of their calling…you are pouring into them all that they need to move forward and press on. Your strength is being made perfect in their weakness. Their brokenness is beautiful to you…not a sign of weakness or failure… it’ a sign that they are now ready to be made whole and complete in you. It’s really a stage of metamorphosis, but we rarely see it that way… something beautiful comes from the pain and struggles. Beauty rises from the ashes. You do  not leave us empty and broken… when we allow you… you heal us…you change, renew, restore, and redeem everything, so we will become more like Christ.  What  the world sees as scars and defects, you see as beautiful. Thank you Lord,  that after we’ve been broken down, we can  look forward to  you building  us back  up. The world is harsh, but you are good. Blessed be your name, Lord. We love you and thank you for what you are doing in each of us. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

You are so loved by Jesus and me!
Your sister and friend,
Debbie

Again wowowow Deb, you provide the words for the wordless even from the inside out. How many lives have you perhaps saved because your words provided a door where there has Been no door. I look forward each morning to read your prayer for all of us. It is changing me. Probably vast others. May we see HIM thru your words. :0)

.”…Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so…WE ARE WEAK, BUT HE IS STRONG” You know the words and the tune. It’s not just for our children, but for all God’s children. Sing it again.
