Prayer for August 8th

August 8, 2014

Sunset8

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Lord,

As we gather today, we ask for you to please touch those that are ill. Please heal  and strengthen their bodies. Lord, there are many here that are dealing with terminal or long-term illnesses and they are discouraged, frightened and in pain…Lord God, please ease their suffering. Help them  to not be overcome with hopelessness…be so real and so present Lord, that their vision of you overpowers anything else that they are facing. Help each one to find courage for the  day. We lift up the caregivers and the family members who must watch those they love suffer. Father, be their comfort…on those days where they are weary and so sad, reassure them that you know the answers to all of their “why” questions and one day they will understand. Please be their strength and place of refuge on the hard days. Lord, we know by Christ’s stripes we are healed and we ask for healing according to your will and in your time and we thank you that one day there will be no more sickness, no more suffering, no more pain…help us to look forward with hope and trust that you do all things well and always with our best interests in mind.

We pray for those that are struggling financially, please meet their needs and lift their heavy burdens. For those that need jobs, Lord, please open a door…go before them…please do what only you can do. Please open your store house and meet the needs of your children, Lord.

For those who are having difficulties in relationships, please be the mediator and counselor that they need. Please soften the hard hearts, open the blind eyes, and  show your truth to those who need to see the error of their ways. Please bring your peace into their lives…help them to see each other with your eyes, and love with your love. We ask for you to restore, renew and heal troubled relationships, Lord. Please heal the hurting, broken  hearts.

For those who are dealing with loved ones, co-workers or friends that don’t know you, or perhaps they have strayed from faith, we ask that you would please reveal  yourself to them…Lord, soften their hearts so they might see the truth of who you are and the need to ask you to be their Lord and Savior. Where there is emptiness due to loss, Father, in the name of Jesus, we ask that your loving comfort would fill their hearts… that you would pour out your peace, comfort and  hope…please heal and restore and show each one how to live in their new normal.

Lord, for those who are weighed down with way too much to do and not enough hours in the day… for those who have so much on their plates that it feels like caring for themselves is  a luxury, for those who see no hope on the horizon of things being any different or better… Lord, please open the eyes of the people around them that they will see the needs and reach out to help in tangible ways. Revive their spirits and energy, Lord…please give them resources to make their lives easier.

Lord, we know this is just the tip of the iceberg to all the needs that are here, but Lord, you know each person reading this by name. You know their needs, spoken and unspoken. Lord where two or three are gathered you are in the midst and there are far more than that praying this prayer We thank you and praise you Lord for your grace, mercy and provision. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen

Blessings be upon you!

Much love in Him,
Debbie

This morning, as I turned from Carol Kent’s description of Faith in a life “turned upside down,” I found in your prayer the words “new kind of normal” and a re-affirmation that all things work together in God’s world. It is no accident that Kent’s “A New Kind of Normal” fell into my hands at a used book store last week. I imagine that you my be familiar with it, too. If not, may I encourage you and anyone else dealing with unacceptable, unexpected changes to find a copy sooner than later. I have relied on your prayers over the past year and am finding an answer to them and a “New Normal.” God bless you and Carol Kent’s family and me as we struggle through our pain and grant us a measure of peace for today. Amen.

I am familiar with her book. It is excellent. The word “coincidence” does not apply when it comes to things of God. He puts the puzzle pieces into place at just the right time and gives us the tools we need when it’s time to take the next step in our healing journey. Thank you for your blessing! Sending you a big hug with much love and praying for your continued healing!

Thank you Diane. I’m still on the road to recovery…not where I need to be yet, but God is so faithful and I trust His timing in all things. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Blessings, hugs and love to you!
