Prayer for August 16th

August 16, 2014

El Capitan

Hello, Friends! I’m feeling led to re-post this prayer today…

Our Father,

Some days are such a struggle. Life seems so overwhelming and we can’t see past all the problems and pain…we don’t know where to begin, because there is so much wrong in our lives…so many things to be worked on and worked out…it’s hard to even take a first step, because it all seems so daunting.

Father, there are so many whose lives are falling apart…they don’t have a job, they need a place to live, they have no one to turn to for help and they feel so lost and overwhelmed. Every door they knock on, fails to open. Father, you are there…you are standing right beside them. Sometimes  words seem so inadequate…they don’t begin to comfort the numbing feelings that threaten to overtake them.

Father, you are the God of miracles…you provided manna and turned a few loaves of bread and fish into more than enough. Father, you always have a plan… so, where our words fail, I pray your peace will fall on each scared and hurting heart. May hope flood their souls and may their faith find new depths in you.

Father, for the grieving, the broken, the ill and the struggling… may they find peace in their hearts and souls.. May they find your peace in the silence while they wait. May they remember that there is a time and a season for all things and spring always follows winter…joy always follows sorrow…dawn always follows the darkest night.

Father, we’ve often prayed about all the things you are and your many names, but what keeps coming to mind today are the words “no more.” When you come back for your children and everything is put right with the new heaven and new earth…I have no doubt we will hear the words, “NO MORE”… There will be…

No more pain
No more sorrow
No more affliction, disease or disability
No more financial struggles
No more ugly words that hurt and pierce our hearts
No more bullying, being unaccepted or unloved
No more loneliness
No more disappointments from people letting us down
No more evil people preying on the innocent
No more corrupt, dishonest people
No more infidelity, betrayal or rejection
No more anger,  bitterness, jealousy or strife
No more poverty,homelessness or abuse
No more fatigue, exhaustion and being overwhelmed
No more war, crime, and killing
No more death and dying and losing people we love…

Just as you said on the cross, “It is finished”…you will wipe away every tear from our eyes one last time and will say, “No more tears my beloved.” Father, we can’t even fully comprehend what all of that will be like, but just the thought of all these things passing away into your glory and grace, is enough to sustain us…

Father, may the thought of these things fill each of  us with hope and courage…may it give us the strength we need to reach out our hands to you and say, “Lord, help me…I feel weak and weary, but I can face today, because you are with me and because I know what lies ahead.”

The battles are increasing Lord, but you never grow tired or weary and we claim your promises today…we will mount up with wings as eagles…you will give us the strength to run the race before us and you will pick us up each time we fall. Father, we are nothing without you…we can’t do this on our own, but we know we can do all things through you. Gather us unto yourself today. Speak to our hearts. May we hear your voice and feel your presence. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen

Praying you feel His presence and peace like never before!
I read your posts and messages and I see your needs and I am praying for you and standing in the gap!
Much love in Him,
Debbie
