Prayer for August 18th

Hello, Friends! I’m feeling led to re-post this prayer today…

Father God,

We thank you for our lives and the many blessings that you give us each day. Father, many here are feeling lost and alone. They feel scared and are looking for comfort.  We ask that they will feel your comfort like a warm blanket on a cold day….we all ask for help  in seeing your hand on our lives and in our circumstance. Our perspective in life determines how well we cope and handle the adversity and trials that we encounter in life. Where one might see isolation and a sense of being alone, another might see the same place, as a place of sanctuary and rest…a place of refuge to find time alone with you.

Father, we pray that you would help us to seek out the positive perspective in our situations. Most people tend to think “worst case scenario”… fear the worst, instead of believing the best…to see the pitfalls, instead of the pluses…to see the negatives, before the positives. Help us to seek your perspective and insight in every situation and circumstance in our lives. Help faith to be our default reaction, instead of doubt. Help trust to come to mind, before fear. Help us to stand, when we want to run. Help our first response be, “God’s got this”, instead of “what am I going to do”.

Help us to always be mindful you are working in every situation… in every circumstance… in every heartache… in every loss… and in all our grief. We come out stronger because of your influence in our healing. We are like clay in the potters hand, we are broken down, but not destroyed. Our hearts are being shaped and molded into something that will not be easily crushed and will be a thing of beauty in the likeness of Christ.

I know so many here are far from healed. So many still have gaping holes and what feels like bleeding wounds…but you are working in each life no matter where they are at in the healing process. You are our Divine Physician, binding our wounds and healing our hurts and the pains and losses of life. Lord, we thank you for the provision that is coming…for the healing and restoration that is coming… we thank you that we can rest in you today…we are not alone or abandoned…any sense of isolation we may feel, can become a place of sanctuary and time with you, if we allow you to work in our hearts, Lord. We just want to know you… and love you… and to feel your nearness this day. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Blessings, hugs and love to you all,

My cousin took her life just a couple of days ago. She lost her husband unexpectedly around Christmas he had a massive heart attack. I was not close with her but it was devastating to her. I know she is in Heaven because God never leaves his child alone. Thank you for yesterday’s post.
