Prayer for August 19th

August 19, 2014

Crater Lake

Hello, Friends! Here is today’s prayer…

Our Father,

As we gather today, we pray for your church. We may not be able to change those around us…we may not be able to convince others within the Body of Christ of the need to be compassionate towards those who deal with  things they don’t understand…we may not be able to influence others to break down pre-conceived ideas and judgments that are formed out of ignorance…we can’t do anything but work on ourselves…but you can make changes in hearts and minds and  we are asking for you to do that. Please convict, instruct and enlighten as only you can.
Father, we pray for a great awakening among believers. We pray for a revival that will bring everyone together… just like you command in Luke 14…to bring in the poor and the lame so that your banquet table might be full and complete. Jesus always reached out to the ill, disabled and the outcasts…He had a heart of compassion and you want us to follow Christ’s example. Use all that each of us have been through,  to help bring awareness and education to those who have never experienced such things. Help us to be compassionate and patient towards their lack of knowledge and even their harsh judgments. Heal the wounds that have been caused by hurtful words. Help us trust, and not become bitter or cynical, even after we have been rejected and neglected in our time of need.

Lord, for everyone here who deals with disabilities, whether they are seen or unseen… chronic health issues… depression, anxiety and phobias and other mental health issues …Lord, we ask for healing. We ask for strength to get through the day. We ask for peace in hearts and minds. We pray that everyone would find hope, peace and relief from the relentless emotional and physical pain. We ask that everyone would have support systems of people who know, care and understand what they deal with. We pray that not one person would feel alone or isolated in their pain or time of need.

We pray for acceptance…we pray that no one would ever  have to fear rejection or condemnation. We pray for good medical care and the finances to afford  needed treatments. We pray that stigmas will be banished that are associated with all of these health issues…especially within the church. Church should  be the first place that people can turn to when they are needing support, love, compassion and understanding.  Help your church and each of us  individually, to be all that you’ve called us to be.

Lord, we lift up all that are hurting and grieving from the loss of loved ones. We pray you would be their comfort. We pray for those who are watching their loved ones suffering with illness and pain… help them with their feelings of sadness and helplessness.  We pray for all who are struggling with financial needs. Father, we grieve with those that grieve today…and we pray for your Holy Spirit to minister to each person and family that is dealing with hurt and loss, unanswered questions, rejection, discouragement and abandonment. Lord, please pour your healing balm upon each hurting heart. Please meet every need spoken and unspoken. Help us to be your hands and feet to bring hope to those around us and  to point the way to you. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen

Blessings be upon you all!

In His Love,
Debbie

Bless you Miss Debbie! I am so thankful for your ministry everyday! I have attended several churches where “Christian” worship leaders have come off the alter from leading worship and then pull out their smartphones and take my picture to put it on the internet to mock me. There are some things on the internet about me that apparently “everyone” has seen and these “leaders” join right in with the world in throwing me under the bus. I’m praying for them and praying for you too. Thanks for the encouragement!

Oh, Lynette, I am so sorry for the delay in responding to you. I’m so behind!! I’m very sorry for what you have been through…there is no excuse for what you have been through. I am so proud and I have no doubt our Heavenly Father is proud of you that you are praying for them as that is what we are supposed to do! I am saying a prayer now too that they will be convicted of what they have done and have their eyes opened for the pain they have caused and I pray they will see how “un-Christlike” their actions are! Sending you a big hug Lynette. Praying you feel God’s peace and comfort today! (((Lynette)))
