Prayer for August 26th

August 26, 2014

depression

Hello, Friends! I have had so many write me in the last few days that they are struggling with depression, so I felt led to pray for those suffering with depression and want to share resources that might help…

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come to you and we lift up everyone who is dealing with depression. Lord, whatever the cause, we ask for your healing hand to be upon each person. We ask for you to touch them as only you can. Please ease their pain. Heal their hurts. Help them to be able to sleep. Help them to be able to shut their minds off. Help them to find the support and encouragement that they need.

Father, for those who are grieving, we ask that they would feel your comforting presence. For those who are filled with fear and anxiety, we ask that they would find rest in you…that they would find trust in you like they’ve never known…may they find release as they rest in your promises to provide. We ask for you to pour out your grace and fill each heart with hope, strength and courage to face this day. What we can’t do on our own, we can do with your strength and power. May your joy be their strength.

Father, you know what it is liked to be filled with despair. The Bible is filled with stories of those who knew great pain and loss and dealt with depression and you understand us better than anyone…you understand us better than we understand ourselves. You are full of loving kindness and compassion. May each person find you to be their rock and refuge and place of security where they can turn to in their time of need. Please inundate them with reminders that you are there in the darkness and you will lead them to green pastures and you will restore their souls.

Lord, we ask that you would meet each need, spoken and unspoken. Open doors for whatever the need…whether it’s medical help, friends to support and encourage them, financial provision, healing from hurts, letting go of things they can’t control or change, acceptance of their new normal, or things that they can’t break free from. Lord, please break every chain that binds We pray for healing… emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually. We ask that each person praying would find you in new ways… that they would rise up with renewed strength and with peace in their hearts and minds…we pray that they will find hope and renewed faith to believe that you hold them in the palm of your hand and you will carry them when they are too weak and weary and unable to face what is before them.

Remove the darkness and pain, Lord and shine the light of truth in their lives so they can begin to see things clearly…and not through the dark lens of depression, sadness or grief. May they believe that things can and will get better, even if they can’t see it now…may they be able to take you at your word and believe your promises are true and that they are for them and with you by their side, together, you can face and deal with anything.

We come to you asking and believing, that all things are possible through you, Lord. We thank you in advance for all that you will do. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen

You are not alone friends. God sees each tear, hears each cry and He knows you by name.

Blessings, hugs and love to you,
Debbie Kay
