Prayer for August 28th

August 28, 2014

Hello, Friends! I’m feeling like there are some people who really need this prayer today, so I am re-posting…

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before you today and lift up all who are stuck in their grief…stuck in their circumstances…stuck in negative thinking… stuck in the past…stuck on thinking of what was… they’re stuck  because they don’t want to accept what is. Lord, we ask that you would show us how to live in the moment and help us to accept the things that we can’t change. We ask you for the courage to walk through the valleys we are in, knowing you will be with us and you will see us through.

Lord, if we look back, we can see how you have brought us through many valleys and challenges during our lives. Things we thought we couldn’t overcome or survive, yet we did. You are The Good Shepherd and you are faithful to lead, guide us and protect us through all that we must deal with. You have enabled us to get through the dark days. You give us strength and all we need to face and overcome the abuse, the financial needs, the illness, the loneliness,  the regrets, guilt and shame, the pain, the rejection, the grief, loss and the suffering that the enemy tries to harm us with. You tell us you will restore us to a place where our cups will run over… you lead us to the still waters where we become refreshed, revived and restored. You are faithful and you keep your promises. Lord, may we cling to your truth instead of clinging to our feelings and emotions.

Many are fearful of the place they find themselves in now. They don’t want to accept the things that have happened, but as long as we refuse to face our circumstances head on, we will stay stuck…unable to move forward. Help us not to waste our lives on the “what if’s” and the “if only’s” and regrets. You promise to bind our wounds… but we have to lay everything before you so you can do your healing work.

Lord, for those who have tried to move forward, yet find themselves in a place of discouragement because they haven’t seen much progress… we ask that you would encourage them today. Your timing is rarely ours…but your timing is always perfect… you want only the best for us…… how often though, we are willing to settle for less, if it means a quick fix to end our pain. Help us not to settle, Lord…help us to grow in our faith and trust of you, so we will be willing to follow you on the rough roads and dark valley’s and wait patiently for your good work to be completed in us. Lord, please pour out your comfort and grace…meet each need as only you can. We thank you for your patience with us, your provision and protection. Please go before us this day. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

May you feel His presence and peace today!

In His love,

I’m sorry I’m so slow to write back Christi! I see these when they come in my email though and I do say a prayer for those who write, even if I don’t get a chance to respond here right away. Praying for you! Hugs and love to you!
