Prayer for September 11th

September 11, 2014

9 11 prayer

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Lord,

As we gather together today, we remember once again, the tragic events of this day in 2001. That day changed our whole world in so many ways. We saw the worst in humanity and the best all at once. Images are forever etched in our minds of horror, pain, loss and incredible acts of selflessness and unconditional love. How we wish we could say that the world is a safer place since then, but evil men continue to silence innocent lives in an effort to spread their agenda of hate.

Lord, we pray for all who are in harm’s way today and for those living in terror and with uncertainty.  We ask for your protection and deliverance from their enemies. We pray for those who hate us. We pray that they would have their eyes opened to the truth of who Jesus is and the error of their ways. You tell us to love our enemies, and Lord, we can only do that with your help. We pray that evil will be overcome by good.  We pray  for  the children who are being brought up from birth to hate those who don’t believe as they do…we pray that somehow, some way, they will come to see you and know you and know that you are the One True God… that you are a God of love and compassion, desiring that no one should perish, but that we all would have eternal life… that you loved us so much, that you gave us your Son Jesus, so that all who would believe in Him could have eternal life. Lord, please make a way where there seems no way for these blind eyes to suddenly see the truth.

Father, we lift up all those who lost loved ones because of the events on 9/11/2001.  May they find some measure of comfort knowing that the world has not forgotten. This happened on U.S. soil, but there were people who lost their lives from many countries around the world. We pray for families everywhere, Lord, that are feeling loss and grief today. We pray for families around the globe who have lost loved ones and their homes and their way of life due to terrorism, persecution and  violence.

Lord, please bring healing to all those whose health has been affected because they were responders on 9/11… so many  suffer the physical effects of all the chemicals,  dust and pollutants they were subjected to. They truly gave unconditionally of themselves and we lift them to you with gratitude in our hearts. We ask that you would bless them abundantly for the sacrifices that they made.

Lord, we know that this world is not our home and there is coming a day with no more wars and no more hate…no more pain, tears, sin, grief or loss. We know one day you will make all things right. How we look forward to that day, Lord! Our world can be a scary place, but we ask that you would help us to look to you and not the things that would make us fearful. We pray for strength and courage to endure hard times.  Lord, we pray that we could all once again, have that sense of unity that we felt after 9-11. It was not only in the U.S., but it was felt around the world. We all had love and compassion for our fellow-man. Pour out your love and your comfort today, Lord as we all remember…In the name of Jesus  we pray, Amen

Blessings of peace and love to you all!

Amen!! Thank you for sharing this beautiful heartfelt prayer, Debbie! It echoes the thoughts I feel and you’ve put them so beautifully into words. It’s a sad world we live in, so many are hurting. I know this is not my home, and I’m so grateful that the Lord is coming soon to make all things right! It will be a glorious unfolding! Blessings to you!!
