Prayer for September 17th

September 17, 2014

hope for the broken hearted

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Lord,

To have true peace, we must follow your ways…your teachings, your truth. You tell us we will have peace when we keep our mind and eyes, fixed on you. You tell us you have made a covenant of peace with us and you will not remove it…you have compassion on us.

In the Old Testament there was a distance between you and your people. They could only get so close to you. Even with Moses, there were boundaries… he had to take off his shoes as He was on Holy ground. He and the High Priests could only get so close to you…you loved your children, but sin separated them from you and you wanted them to be aware of that. Because of Jesus and all that He did, everything has changed for us… you want us to draw near to you…you don’t want there to be distance between us. You tell us to come just as we are…you tell us, you won’t leave our side…you want to carry our burdens and be our shelter in the storms of life. Your eye is constantly on us…you are aware of each need…you know us better than we know ourselves. You tell us not to fear, because you are with us. You have told us that we will have trouble and suffering, but to not be afraid, because you have already overcome and made a way  for us and no one can snatch us from your hand…you tell us to dwell in your peace and to be filled with your hope and joy.

Father, as we go about our responsibilities today, fill us with a sense of awe and wonder as we think about what an amazing thing it is to have the Creator of all beside us in everything we do…that your Holy Spirit indwells us…that Jesus is in heaven praying for us…that you love us with an everlasting love.  May we walk humbly, but confidently with you, Lord…knowing that you will not cast us aside…knowing that we are your beloved children in whom you take delight. Help us not to waste our days, but help us to grow in our knowledge of you.  May we find each day drawing closer to you. Help us to focus on the blessings we have and to trust you for the things that we need. Thank you Lord, for being in our midst and for hearing our prayers. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

May you feel overwhelmed by His deep love for you today!

Much love in Him,
