Prayer for September 25th

September 25, 2014

hope for the broken hearted

Hello, Friends! Here is today’s prayer…

Dear Lord,All around the world, with increasing regularity, we see and hear about tragedies, wars and  natural disasters… and it’s easy to see we live in a fallen and lost world. We see, as Paul says in Romans, the groaning that all creation experiences, because of sin in the world. No one escapes pain or loss. Some see it more than others.

Lord, it’s hard not to have a heavy heart  as we watch as people’s worlds are devastated. We grieve with those who grieve today .  Life is  so fragile and fleeting and  we waste way so much time on things that do not matter in light of eternity.

Lord, help us to remember  that you are sovereign…that you do not waste pain or suffering…and you are still good, even though there is evil in this world.  You are faithful. You are righteous and holy and you  take care of your children. You will use these trials and pain to transform us… if we allow you to. Though we will suffer and struggle in this life, we have a hope and a promise that all things will be worked together for good for those who love you. Tragedies help us to appreciate and look forward to what is waiting ahead.

Lord, we are imperfectly human and our brains can’t begin to understand everything in this life…but one day we will clearly see and understand as the veil is removed and all is revealed…but until that time Lord, we cling to you and thank you for being with us.  We stand united together as we pray Lord…standing in the gap for all that are heartbroken today…we stand in the gap and lift up all the fearful, anxious, ill, depressed, worried  and hopeless as they deal with things they couldn’t dream they’d ever face. You see the tears and hear the cries and you are grieving right along with us. Lord, we pray in the midst of all the pain around the world today, for those who are crying out to you and asking “Where are you God”…we pray that they will feel your presence envelop them, so they will know you are faithful to never leave or forsake them.  We thank you in advance for meeting each need as only you can. We love you, Lord and we thank you that we have a Savior in whose name we can pray. Amen

My thoughts and prayers are with you all!

You are loved,
Debbie

And all God’s people cried, “Amen.”
