Prayer For September 26th

September 26, 2014

hope for the broken hearted

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Our Father God,

We thank you that you hold this world firmly in your hand. We look around us and know that this world did not just happen, it was all created by you. We know that you hold the stars and the heavens in place and you uphold us with your righteous hand. Lord, you alone determine the length of our days and our time on earth. You alone know the beginning and end… and when the end of days shall be.  Sometimes we question you…we think we know better…we think you don’t see our needs…we think you are slow to answer or that you don’t care… Father  we ask for forgiveness when we doubt you. We ask for forgiveness for the times when we listen to the wisdom of men, instead of Your word. We know that the wisdom of men is as foolishness to you, Lord. Your ways are not our ways and everything you do is with eternity in mind, not just taking care of the immediate needs or the quick fixes.  Help us to have courage to stand upon your truth, even when the world would say we are foolish to do so.

Oh, Lord we want to love you and know you more. May we be brave in proclaiming who you are and why you came. Help us remember that we are all called to spread the good news of the gospel to the lost and to comfort others with the same comfort that we receive from you. Encourage us and bless us Lord, so we can encourage and bless others in return. May we be emptied of ourselves so we can be filled with you. Fill us now we pray…we ask and our ready, to receive all that you have for us.

Lord, so many are feeling discouraged this week. So many are battle weary, but the battles rage on and we must be diligent and persistent as though our lives depend on it, for surely they do. The enemy is unrelenting and we are in a battle with dark forces that are intent in destroying us and turning us away from you. They do not fight fair and they do not stop or rest in their quest to destroy, discourage and lead us astray from you and your plan for our lives.  Lord, help us to be brave in battle. Fill us with your courage and renew our strength. Help us to remember to pray for each other…to encourage each other…to support each other. With Christ’s power and strength we are more than conquerors. Help us to be lights in the world…may others see your light shining through us. Lord, you are our strength and shield, the maker of heaven and earth and when we look to you we are helped and we cannot fail.

Lord, we thank you for loving us…for saving us…for watching over us and providing for us. We give you praise for the things you are working out on our behalf…for the provision for our needs that is coming…for the renewed  energy and strength we will find as we look to you and ask to be re-filled. Lord, life is short and it can be so hard, but you are so good and faithful. May we be filled with peace and comfort as we focus on you and praise you as we count our many blessings and all the times you have delivered us, provided for us and seen us through. You have never failed us and you are not about to now. We love you, Lord. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

May you find rest and renewed strength and energy this weekend friends!

In His love,

Debbie

Debbie, I cannot tell you often enough how much I appreciate your writing. You pray in a manner that I can only dream about. Your words are healing, soothing, reflective, encouraging and all the other adjectives that point toward the glory you show for God. Thank you and know that I encourage everyone I can to subscribe to your site.
