Prayer For December 17th

December 17, 2014

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Our Father,

We come to you today and Lord, there are so many hurting in the world. There have been so many tragedies in the news…the school children killed in Pakistan… The people who were held hostage in Australia… There are many dealing with natural disasters, terror and war, persecution, illnesses, financial difficulties, death and loss and we are so profoundly aware that this world is so in need of a Savior…we all are so in need of what only Jesus can give.

Lord, thank you for loving us so much that you sent your Son…it’s hard to imagine such self-sacrificing that would endure so much…face such loss and hardship and difficulty…coming to die, so we might live…  Lord, there are no words that can begin to convey how grateful we are that you made a way for us…how grateful we are that this world, with all the evil and adversity, we are grateful that  this world and this life, is not our home…we are so grateful that there is hope because you came and died and rose again and all you ask is that we believe in you and follow you.

Father, for everyone who is danger today, we ask for protection and deliverance. For all who are ill, we ask for healing. For all who are despairing  because of life and their circumstances, we ask that you send your angels to be about them and we ask for your Holy Spirit to minister as The Great Comforter. Lord, you know our needs  before we ask. You know us by name… you know us intimately and personally and there is nothing too insignificant in our lives for you to be concerned about. Lord, we know you grieve with those who grieve and we know there is coming a day when all evil will be vanquished once and for all…help us Lord, to be more than conquerors and to keep our eyes focused on you and not the troubling things. Help us to find rest in you and to trust in you and your plan in all things.

Lord, we intercede for those who have no voice…for the ones who have no rights…for those who are born into  poverty and prejudice and mistreatment, in countries where their living conditions are beyond anything we can imagine. Lord, please shine your light in the dark places of this world…help us to be strong and caring and compassionate and even if we can’t do anything tangibly, stir within our hearts a desire to become strong prayer warriors on behalf of those who are in need. May we live each day with an attitude of gratitude…with an attitude that even though life is hard but you are good. Help us to live with a sense of urgency that there are people dying every day without knowing you and we must be salt and light in this world and point the way to you.

Oh, Lord, we need you. Like the air we breathe. We reach out to touch the hem of your garment today. Please heal us body, mind and spirit. Please help us to rise from the ashes of our losses and bring forth beauty that makes us more like you. Help us to trust when it makes no earthly sense to. Lord, please do a mighty work in us and through us and help us to draw closer to you and to find you in new ways we’ve never known. Thank you for standing by us and for not leaving us the way you found us. Lord, we praise you…we adore you…we bow before you today and lift our hands to be filled by you. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen

May God bless you and keep you safe in His care!

In His love,

Hi, Debbie! Thank you again for leading my prayers. I am commenting this morning with a specific prayer request. A mistake by the Healthcare Marketplace has caused my insurance company to cancel my insurance coverage and I was notified too late to be able to resolve the problem in time for the shipment of my MS injectable medication. This medication, of course, doesn’t cure MS, but it lengthens the time between and severity of MS attacks on my Central Nervous System. I have been waiting for a phone call with a possible solution from the marketplace, but earlier this year when I faced a similar issue with the Marketplace/Insurance Company communications, they were unable to fix it before MS attacked, resulting in hospitalization and the permanent use of a walking aid. Please pray with me that the Marketplace finds a solution today and calls with a delivery date for the medication that helps maintain the functions that I currently have and delays the next MS attack. I know, God, that You are the great healer and know all things and work all things (even disability) for the good of his children. I am your child, Father God and pray these things in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.

Thanks you Debbie for praying with me. Where two or more are gathered in his name, there is love!

Dear Teresa, I’m just now getting to respond, but I saw your request come through my email and have been praying. Please keep me posted. Praying God works on your behalf in all these things. Hugs and love to you Teresa!
