Prayer For January 20th

January 20, 2015

hope for the broken hearted

Hello, Friends! I’m feeling led to re-post this prayer today…

Dear Lord,

You often do things to show your power and that you are in control and to teach us not to be afraid. When you took your children to the Red Sea, that was not the direct route to where they were going. There were other ways that you could have directed them…but you wanted to teach your children not to be afraid of their enemies AND you wanted to show their enemies, that you protect those that belong to you. You brought everyone to a place where both sides could clearly see your power and might…so all could see that you are God…that there is no one like you… and that you protect and deliver your children.

If we never came up against things that scared us, or filled us with dread, we would not know that you are with us… or that we have no need to fear. Our faith must be tested, or it’s not faith at all… we can only learn to trust you, after learning from first hand experience, that you are trustworthy and that your Word is true. It is through the attacks of enemies and the trials of life, that we come to know you as our Deliverer and our Strong Tower of Refuge. It is only when we experience pain and grief, that we experience your comfort and healing.

Everything we experience as a Christian, teaches us to look at things differently…help us Lord, to see things through your eyes and to understand, that sometimes you allow things to happen, just so we can see you work and to grow and test our faith. Help us to embrace and desire, the intimate relationship that you want to have with us.

Sometimes you take us on the back routes… and on slow journeys… and  more often than not, you don’t answer our prayers right away… but everything you do is for our good and to teach us lessons we can not learn any other way. You want us to know, not just from reading, but from experience, that no weapon formed against us can prosper and that you are firmly in control and on the throne and we are held safely in your hand.

Lord, we have so much to learn of you, but we want to be teachable. We want to have unshakable faith that does not waver and that STANDS, instead of running, complaining or  cowering in fear. We want to have the kind of trust that allows us to say “even though I don’t understand, I trust and know my, Father, and that is all I need to know.” Please pour out your wisdom and knowledge upon us, so we can understand your will for our lives…so we can walk in a way  that is pleasing to you. Please pour out your Holy Spirit upon us and fill us, that we may have Holy boldness  and courage to face the difficult things in life. Please increase our faith, so no matter what we face, we will not lose hope… so we will not question where you are…so we can confidently say, you are faithfully by our side always. Mold us and teach us Lord, we are yours. We love you and adore you. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen

Praying the rest of your week is full of many peaceful, blessed and joy filled moments!

Much love in Him,
