Prayer For January 21st

January 21, 2015

Hello, Friends! Here is today’s prayer…

Dear Heavenly Father,

Some days when we come to you in prayer there is just so much rattling around in our brains…we just don’t even know where to start…we  thank you for knowing what is deep in our hearts…our desires…our fears…our insecurities…our failures…we thank you for your patience, your mercy, your compassion and kindness…Lord, please clear away the things that consume our time and thoughts that are not helpful, not healthy, not productive. Clear away anything that draws us away from you. Help us to may attention to what thoughts we entertain and help us to take every thought captive. Help us not to be consumed with worry, fear, grief, anxiety or negative thoughts. Help us to be rid of any sinful thoughts that we think are just normal or innocent, but are  harmful… help us to shutter off the areas in our minds that the enemy uses to plant seeds of doubt or sin. Help us to not be conformed to this world. Please renew our minds, Lord and make them more like Christ’s!

Lord, all that we are…all that we hope to be…all that we want in this life…we offer up to you…Lord, please don’t let us waste what precious time we have on things that don’t matter or that aren’t the best for us…Lord, may we hear your voice above all others…may your Holy Spirit convict us, lead us, prompt us and stir within us the direction we need to go and the paths we need to be on. Soften our hearts, Lord…may we recognize that we are the clay and you are the potter…help us not to struggle against you…may our hearts thirst and long for the things of you and not the things of this world…

When we think of the apostles and all they accomplished in such a short time…they were sold out for you…they tried not to be consumed by the things  of this world…they were driven to share that Jesus was the answer to every need…they lived their lives knowing that the things that they said and did mattered. May we be that way also, Lord. They were only a few, but they changed the world, because they allowed themselves to be used by you…Lord, help us to seize our days and make them count… help us to remember that only the things we do for you will last…help us live with eternity in mind. Make us hungry for more of you, Lord. May we always long for the things that this world can’t give. Please use us…use all that we’ve been through for your glory, Lord. We thank you that we have the hope of glory and the promise of better things to come. We thank you and praise you for the work you are doing in us and that you will faithfully complete what you have started in each of us. May we trust you more with each passing day. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen

Hugging you with my prayers friends!

In His love,
