Prayer For February 17th

February 17, 2015

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Father,

We lift all those who are suffering in the world today. We pray for those who are having to deal with incredible acts of nature. We pray for those who are without power and are cold. We ask for protection over those who work in  public and emergency services.  We thank you for people who put their lives on the line to help take care of others. Please give them strength and endurance for all that needs to be done. We ask for your blessing to be upon those who serve us and protect us, day in and day out.

Lord, we pray for those who are being persecuted in the world. A few cases make the news, but we know there are many more stories that go unreported. Father, we know every person is important to you. Every life has value and you grieve along with us over every life that is lost. Lord, we ask for  your protection and deliverance for those in need. We ask for ways of escape and removal of fear, for all who are dealing with things most of us can’t imagine. We ask for your comfort for those who are grieving the loss of loved ones…for those who do not know what has happened to their loved ones…for those who are in harm’s way. We especially lift up the children who are suffering in the world…we ask for you to protect them, provide for them, deliver them, comfort them…may they feel your nearness.

Lord, the things that are happening in the world are hard to comprehend, but we know you are in control and things are unfolding as you said they would. Lord, help us to become more dedicated to prayer for people around the world who are in need. Help us to become more dedicated to praying our enemies and for the lost…may we live our lives knowing that the day of your return is drawing near.

We thank you, Lord that when there is suffering, you are not distant… you are as close as a breath away… filling us with your Holy Spirit, giving us comfort, strength and power.  You are The Word that was made flesh and dwelt among us. You are near to us, you hear our cries and you have us firmly in the palm of your hand. One day you will make right all the wrongs, you will heal all the wounds, you will redeem each tear, you will put first, all who have been last and there will be no more death, sorrow, hunger, suffering, violence or evil and we will dwell in your house for ever. Oh, God prepare our hearts for you and may we keep our eyes firmly fixed on you. Lord, thank you for being with us. Thank you for loving us.  We are so thankful this world is not our home and that this life is but a vapor compared to eternity. We love you, Lord and we praise you for your faithfulness. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen

May the Lord bless you and make His face shine upon you!

In His love,
