Prayer For April 4th

April 4, 2015

3 days

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Lord,

We thank you for today… as good Friday is coming to an end, we can’t help but think of the phrase ,”It’s Friday, but Sunday’s coming!”
Lord, we pray that we will take away from this Easter weekend many lessons to apply to our hearts. Many here are experiencing a “Friday” in their own lives. All they see are the dark skies and they feel the pressing weight of numbness despair and hopelessness. Many have lost their sense of direction and purpose… some among us, feel like everything they’ve known and what is familiar has gone and their reasons to carry on have died….help them to remember, it’s Friday, but Sunday’s coming!

For all those who have lost loved ones and they are  full of grief, pain and despair and they feel like they are just existing… They’ve forgotten what it feels like to have joy or to experience laughter… they feel an emptiness and a longing in them for something that this world can’t replace…help them to remember it’s only Friday, but Sunday is coming!

Lord, for all those whose family’s are torn apart…  for all those who believed in people who have let them down in one way or another… for the people who have tried to live right and do right, but adversity and disappointment keep attacking them relentlessly…help them to remember it’s Friday, but Sunday’s coming!

Lord, you promised this life would be full of trouble. You told us we would be persecuted unjustly… that family members would turn against each other… that we would be crushed and perplexed on all sides… but you told us not to fear, or  lose heart and to take courage, because you have overcome the world…this is our Friday, but Sunday’s coming!

Help us to see with your eyes, Lord. Give us your vision. This Easter weekend, as we think about all you endured and all that you have done… as we think about  your endless love for us, help us to look at these things differently than the way we normally would…help us to find ways  we can apply these lessons in new ways to our lives and circumstances…We pray that by the time Sunday comes, that we will find joy and peace in our hearts with a new sense of hope and purpose. We pray that just as you rose from that grave and  threw off those wrappings that bound you, we pray that people will rise up and throw off the cares of this world and the fear, worry, sorrow, anxiety and sin that has had them bound.

Lord, we know what you’ve promised us in your Word and we know that our “Resurrection Day” that’s coming, isn’t going to be just a day, it’s going to be for an eternity… forever… with no more pain, sorrow, illness, sadness or tears…oh, Lord…we can endure because of you…this life…this pain…these troubles are temporary…this earthly life is just a small part our eternity… and our Sunday is coming. We love you Lord and we praise you with grateful hearts. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen

May your day be richly blessed!

In His love!
