Prayer For April 20th

April 20, 2015

hope for the broken hearted

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Lord,

We are so blessed, but we often take so much for granted in our lives. In the Old Testament there was a distance between you and your people. They could only get so close to you. Even with Moses there were boundaries… he had to take off his shoes as He was on Holy ground … …you loved your children, but sin separated them from you and you wanted them to be aware of that. Because of Jesus and all that He did, everything has changed for us… you want us to draw near to you…you don’t want there to be distance between us. You tell us to come just as we are…you tell us you won’t leave our side…you want to carry our burdens and be our shelter in the storms of life. How blessed we are Father, that Christ can dwell in us…that we can become partakers in His divine nature. He is our beloved and we belong to Him… and we are all part of the same vine…all part of the same body…all of these terms and descriptions that are used to show how close we can be to you, Lord…what a mystery and a gift…yet we so often forget…we let the things of this life overshadow your nearness…we let the things of this life seem overpowering and overwhelming…we forget that nothing overwhelms you and you are in us and together, there is nothing that we cannot conquer or overcome.

Father, as we go about our responsibilities this week, fill us with a sense of awe and wonder as we think about what an amazing thing it is to have the Creator of all beside us in everything we do. May we walk humbly, but confidently with you, Lord…knowing that you will not cast us aside…knowing that we are your beloved children in whom you take delight. Help us not to waste our days but help us to grow in our knowledge of you. Help us Lord, to draw on your strength and to rely on your power…help us overcome our fears, anxiety and worries and put our faith and trust in you. Help us to focus on the blessings we have and to trust you for the things that we need. Thank you Lord, for being in our midst and for hearing our prayers. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

May you feel His presence this week in new ways!

Much love in Him,
Debbie
