Prayer For May 8th

May 8, 2015

prayer for the broken

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Lord,

Thank you for seeing us through this week. We thank you for the victories that were won and the ground that was gained…for some, they might not feel victorious, so we ask Lord, that you would help them to see that it is a victory just to stand fast…to not lose hope, to not give up…for every time we consciously put our thoughts on you, instead of our situation, that is a victory. Every time we can talk ourselves out of being fearful and trusting you instead…every time we pray, instead of worry…these are all victories… some days it’s a victory just to get out of bed… help us to seek out the little things to be thankful for…the little signs of hope…the baby steps that propel us forward instead of staying stuck…help us not to compare our lives with anyone else…every person’s struggles our different…every person deals with different hardships, losses, etc…but every victory is equally important…every step of faith we take is something to smile about…every time we can pick ourselves up after falling, is something to  be thankful for. Help us to celebrate the little victories and to see them as signs that we are moving in the right direction.

Lord, we all want to be healed and whole and full of wisdom and be on the top of our games…no one likes the process of becoming Christlike or the process of healing…  we grow tired and weary and get frustrated when we take steps forward and then go backwards …we live in a time where impatience is the norm for most of us… waiting is not comfortable…it is hard…help us to overcome our impatience, Lord. Help us to trust you, your timing and your ways…help us to trust that you know best and you have the full picture that we don’t yet have…help us to see ourselves as victors and not victims…help us to get rid of the ideas that everything must be perfect…help us to let go of our expectations of how things should be…help us to find peace knowing that your ways are not our ways… we may not always understand what you are doing, but you have only our best interests at heart…help us to do our best and then trust everything else to your hands.

Lord, we thank you that even though we are not where we want to be, we are not where we used to be…we thank you for the hope of glory…we thank you that Christ is being resurrected in us…we thank you that the more we give ourselves to you, the more like Christ we become…thank you for all you have invested in us…thank you for not giving up on us…thank you for seeing in us, what we can’t see in ourselves…we see a mess, you see a message…we see failure, you see learning experiences…we see brokenness and you see yourself reflected in those broken places as you fill us back up with more of yourself.

Thank you Lord for seeing beyond who and what we are now…thank you for your blessing on our lives. We love you Lord. We give you this day and all that is in it and ask you to lead and guide us and be glorified in us. In the name of our Savior Jesus we pray. Amen

May your weekend be blessed beyond measure!

Much love in Him,
Debbie

Debbie, thank you for those lovely and precious words of prayer. As always, your prayers make “miracles” happen – in my life daily – and yesterday, especially I received some of those “Blessings”, and while it was happening I kept thinking of the song “Blessings”, by a sweet artist, which has lyrics that match your words today – “what if your “Blessings” come through raindrops, what if your “Healing” comes through tears, what if a thousand sleepness nights are what it takes to know you are here”, what if “trials” of this life are your mercies in disguise”?!?!!!!!! God Bless you, and wishes for a peaceful day and weekend – and a “Blessed and Joyful Mother’s Day”!!! 🙂
