Prayer For May 19th

May 19, 2015

hope for the broken hearted

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Heavenly Father,

We are so thankful for you…we are grateful that you never let go of us…we are held by you…we may feel like we can’t hold on at times…that it just takes  too much effort…it takes strength that we don’t have…sometimes we don’t even have the will  to hold we are so weary…but through the highs, and through the lows, through every storm, you are holding us…you are that strong-arm that pulls us up from the pit and puts our feet back on solid ground… when we are too  weak and weary to even walk, you carry us…

When we read your Word, we find such encouragement and see how profoundly we are loved by you…how you know us so well, that you know what we need before we even ask…your eye is never turned away from us…your ear is tuned into us…you are always vigilant in your care for us. Your promises and your Word are life-giving nourishment for our souls…they fill us with hope… but when we need you most…when we need to read your Word the most, is often when we find it hardest to read and pray…help us Lord, to make you the priority and to turn to you even when we don’t feel like it…

You tell us in your Word that you give us strength for the battle…you give us your power so we can be patient and not give up when troubles come…our  flesh and strength may fail, but you are the strength of our hearts…you are all we need…Paul tells us we can find glory in our afflictions and infirmities because the power of God rests on us when we are weak…

Lord, these are such empowering truths…help us to let go of the ideas that we must be self-sufficient and self-reliant…that we must be strong and not need anyone…that we can do things if we just have enough will power… help us to not be embarrassed to come before you  in our weakness… help us to not be afraid to reach out to others when we need prayer support and encouragement.

Help us to cast off the labels that the world tries to put on us… help us to see ourselves through your eyes… help us to understand that your thinking is so different from how the world thinks…Lord, we turn to you today and lift up the arms of our family members and friends who are too weary or too sick to even pray for themselves…may our faith and belief sustain them…may we be the hands and feet of Jesus, even as we face our own struggles. Together we are strong…remind us that we are all part of the same body and we need each other to encourage each other and to point the way back to you.

Lord, thank you for your faithfulness and for never giving up or letting go. We give you praise, glory and honor. In the name of our Savior Jesus we pray, Amen

May you feel His strength rise up in you friends!
Blessings, hugs and love,
