Prayer For June 21st

June 21, 2015

Father's Day Prayer

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Our Father,

On this day we celebrate fathers… we thank you for being our Abba Father. Thank you for always being there for us.  We are so grateful that we can count on you for wise counsel, for guidance, for protection, for provision, for comfort, encouragement, support, acceptance and unconditional love. We are so grateful to be your children.
We thank you for our earthly fathers. We ask for your blessing to be upon them. We pray for everyone who does not have their father with them. We pray that you will comfort those who are sad and missing their dad’s today. Some are parted by death…others by things like divorce, or they are estranged for some reason. Father, we ask  that you will give comfort and encouragement to those who do not have their father in their life.

For those who never knew their dad… or their father was not the kind of dad that he should have been…we pray for their comfort as well. We ask that you would heal wounds and hurts. Please fill those vacant places in their heart’s, with more of your love. Sometimes, people are not able to relate to you as a loving Father, because of the way they were treated by their earthly dad. We ask in the name of Jesus, that you will clean out those deep wounds so they may heal. May they find you in that place of pain, and realize that you are not like mere man…you will never leave us…you will never hurt us or betray us…there is no one that can love us like you do…we pray that they will be unafraid to reach out to you to receive the healing and love that only you can give.
Lord, for every father who has lost a child or is unable to be with them…we pray for your grace and mercy to rain down on them. For those whose pain is raw because this is their first Father’s Day without their dad, grandfather, spouse or child, we ask for your presence to be so real, Lord…may each one feel your nearness and be comforted knowing that you are there beside them.Father, we lift up the single mom’s and dad’s who are parenting by themselves. We pray for your strength, your energy, your wisdom and your provision for them.  Please bring people to come stand beside them and help them with the tangible things that are just so hard for one person to do alone. For those whose fathers have things like Alzheimer’s or dementia…for those who have special children that are unable to speak and they’ve never heard the words “I love you Dad” please give them strength for the day and comfort on the hard days. Lord, there are so many things to cause pain in this life, but one day all will be made right. We will be with you, our Heavenly Father and we will be healed physically, mentally, emotionally and death will no longer separate us from those we love… how we look forward to that day.We thank you and praise you for being with us each step of our journey…we love you, Father! In the name of your Son we pray, Amen.
May you feel overwhelmed by God’s great love for you today!
In His love,
Debbie
