Prayer For April 7th

April 7, 2016

prayer from Debbie Kay

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Heavenly Father,

As we gather together  we ask that you would help us to shift our perspective and focus from the visible and ordinary to the invisible and extraordinary. All around us are signs of your nearness…of your help…of your faithfulness…but too often we focus on our problems and needs instead of what you might be trying to teach us or show us in the midst of our struggles…please help us to see past the immediate and demanding things that try to take our focus from you…we ask for your wisdom, knowledge and discernment…we want to be focused on the bigger picture of our lives…you promise to meet our needs, but you have always made it known that you see things differently than us…you know there is so much more going on beyond what we can see…you care more about the eternal than the temporary…the Bible gives examples of how you shifted the focus of people…you allowed Balaam to see the angel that had stopped his donkey…you allowed Elisha’s servant to see the chariot’s of fire…you are working behind the scenes in each of our lives for a greater good and purpose than what we can see or even begin to imagine…help us to trust and have eyes to see and ears to hear what you are trying to show and teach us, Lord…

Help us  to give you our full attention…help us to not be distracted or too busy to seek you…as we are to train our children in the way they are to go, you are trying to do the same with us…you have left us instructions to help us to deal with feelings of helplessness, hopelessness and despair…you have taught us how to take our thoughts captive by choosing what things to think about…help us make good choices…help us to take back our power that we so easily discount or give away…we do have a choice on where we place our focus…what thoughts we choose…whose voice we will listen to…who we will believe…who we will trust…who and what we will cling to in times of adversity…help us to choose well, Lord…help us to live our lives with purpose and to be intentional with what thoughts we entertain and where we place our trust, faith and focus…the enemy would have us to feel that we are helpless and powerless…help us to have a true sense of who we are in you, Lord.

Please go before us.. do a work in us…help us to live with expectation of your wonder-working power…help us to live what we say we believe…help us to live in the fullness of your joy, power and strength…help us to fix our eyes and heart on the things that are not seen…you are the same miracle-working God you have always been…help us to be faithful followers. We love you, Lord and we thank you in advance for all you will do. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen

Blessings to you friends!

In His love,
Debbie
