Prayer For May 8th

May 8, 2016

mother's day prayer

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Lord,

We thank you for today…we thank you for the gift of life…we thank you for our mothers  and  for all who have poured  into our lives with their love, support and encouragement…please bless them in ways they can’t imagine…

Lord, you know that for so many, Mother’s Day is difficult…for some,  their mother’s are not in their life …some didn’t have good relationships with their mom’s and today is just a painful reminder of that fact… for others they are estranged or they never knew their mom…for many their mother’s are in heaven…some are struggling at this moment watching as their loved one’s health declines…or they deal with painful things like dementia or Alzheimer’s…

Lord, for all who are struggling with grief or sadness today, we ask for your peace and comfort to rest upon them…  We especially ask for your comfort for the families who are experiencing their first Mother’s Day without their loved ones. Lord, please touch each heart as only you can…

We pray as well for mothers who are grieving for their children who are in heaven … For the moms who are without their children for other reasons…for the women who have longed to be a mother, but have empty arms...for the mother’s who have children who are  terminally ill or dealing with disabilitiesmay every hurting heart  feel your nearness today…  Please soothe the ache in their hearts and let them know that they are held by you…

Lord, we also  lift up the single parents…the single mothers and the fathers who serve as both dad and mom…it can be so difficult to parent alone...please let them know that they are seen by you…you know and appreciate all they sacrifice for their children…Father, please  help them when they are weary and overwhelmed…be their provider, helpmate, source of encouragement and strength…

Thank you Lord, for your unconditional love for us … we pray for every person who feels unloved, unwanted, or abandoned… especially today…we pray they would look to you to fill the empty places in their lives…please remind them that you have known them by name since they were in their mother’s womb… your thoughts for them are more than the grains of sand and they have infinite worth and value in your eyes…we thank you that your unconditional love is the greatest  love we will ever know…Thank you for our many blessings…please meet every need, spoken and unspoken and we pray for your blessing and favor upon mothers every where. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen!

Blessings to you all!
Much love in Him,
Debbie
