Prayer For Aug. 5th

August 5, 2016

prayer from Debbie Kay, Hope For The Broken Hearted

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Heavenly Father,

We ask that you would go before us this day and weekend. We pray that we would be able to find time to relax and recharge. We know that your Holy Spirit dwells inside of us, comforting us and ministering to us. May we take the time to hear your voice and rest in your presence.

We know the only things that we truly have control of in this life are our thoughts, reactions and attitude, but yet we often weigh ourselves down with things that are out of our control. Please prompt us when we rise each morning, to center ourselves on you and your word…it takes a conscious effort on our parts to be in control of our thoughts and emotions, but we know with your help, it is possible. Help us to start each morning focusing on you and all we have to be thankful for… help us to get in the habit during our first waking moments to feed our body, mind and spirit with things that will uplift us and help us. Help us to do the same thing at the end of the day …help us to adapt all these small, but  helpful things into our daily routines so we can live the way you want us to live and to be all you want us to be.

Each sunrise and sunset, declare that you are still in control and still on the throne…the darkness that surrounds us, only makes you shine brighter. Lord, please create in us a yearning for you that is beyond anything we have ever known …may we grow in your knowledge and grace. May we remember to turn our burdens over to you in prayer…help us so we don’t waste more of our time or give up another night of good sleep  by focusing more on our problems than you, the problem solver…help us to learn to immediately lay down our burdens and give them to you, our burden-bearer…Lord, may we learn these lessons once and for all, so we can grow, move forward and be set free…

May we walk in your freedom, peace, love and hope today. May we remember that there is nothing we will face that we can’t handle with your help. We love you Lord and we praise you for who you are and all you do. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Blessings be upon you and your weekend!

Much love in Him,
