Prayer For March 7th

March 7, 2017

Hello, Friends! Here is today’s prayer…

Dear Father God,

When a child is learning to walk, a parent will keep walking backwards, moving farther away in an effort to help them get stronger on their feet. The parent is close enough to be there in a split second if they fall… they would never put their child in harm’s way… but as the parent steps further back, the child can become frustrated…it’s not until they are older that they understand the process. We go through a similar spiritual process when we are learning to walk with you…You are always there…but you need to teach us how to trust you and follow directions and to learn to endure and persevere and to strengthen our spiritual muscles. Father, thank you for your patience with us. We pray we will learn to not question you when we don’t understand your ways or your plan.

For those who are struggling with frustration, we ask for peace and comfort. It is hard to walk in the dark and not know where you’re going. It’s hard to not see ahead. At times it feels like our circumstances cause a kind of claustrophobia…we become anxious and panicky when we can’t see any light at the end of the tunnel. Help us to trust that we are exactly where we are supposed to be…nothing touches our lives that hasn’t first passed through your hands…you are preparing us for a future that only you can see at the moment. You are mindful and so well aware of how we think, what we feel and what we need and you are infinitely kind and compassionate towards us, …help us to cling to the truths that we know about you when nothing makes sense and when emotions threaten to overtake us.

Father, we give you our questions. We give you our fears. We give you all the things that make us feels anxious. We give you our trust issues. We give you our pain. We give you everything that is beyond our control. We give you all the troubles and all the troubled relationships. We give you our doubts and we give you all of our disillusionment… Give us clarity. Show us your truth. Please grant us your wisdom, knowledge and discernment. Please shut the doors you want closed and open the ones you want us to walk through. With one word you can calm the winds and waves…please calm us now as we call on your name. We thank you that we can be honest and real with you…thank you for hearing our prayers… thank you for always being there to lift us when we fall … we thank you and praise you and give you all glory and honor. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen

May you all feel God’s nearness and His peace today!
Much love in Him,
