Prayer For March 12th

March 12, 2020

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Gracious and Merciful God,

Thank you for this new day and for keeping us safe through the night. Today, many are filled with a sense of uncertainty. Many feel worried, anxious, and afraid because of all that is happening in the world. You tell us in your Word to be anxious for nothing. You know that our human response is to have fear in certain situations…you created us with the fight or flight response. Fear is healthy and helpful at times…but anxiety in a man weighs his spirit down…it takes our eyes from you and makes us focus on problems and the unknown. Anxiety and worry rob us of your peace, comfort, and joy.  Please help us to keep our eyes on you and to center our thoughts on things that are true, right, and of you, so we can have your peace.

You are The Creator of All. You are The Alpha and Omega who holds our world and each star in place. You know each star by name. You hold each of us in the palm of your hand. You know each of us so well that you know the number of hairs on our heads. You are still on the throne and firmly in control. What is out of our control is not out of yours.  Tragedies may befall us. Storms of every kind may threaten us…but we can still have your peace no matter what is happening to us or going on around us. You offer to calm the storms within us with your peace that the world can’t give or take away. Your peace defies logic and explanation.  The peace you provide is not dependant on circumstances but on our Prince of Peace. You tell us not to be worried, anxious, or afraid because you are with us.  We may long for the safety of the known and comfortable, but what we need more than anything is Jesus. We do not have peace because of the absence of storms, but because of Christ’s presence with us.

Help us to rest in you and be still before you today. Help us to remember where our help comes from and to cling to your promises like the life-preserver that they are. May we share with others the same comfort that you comfort us with. Help us to be a source of hope, joy, peace, and encouragement for others…especially for those who are hurting, anxious, or in distress. May we point the way to you in all that we do and say. No matter what is going on in our lives and the world, may we be able to say, “It is well with my soul.” We ask these things in the name of our Savior, Jesus. Amen

Praying blessings over you all!

In His love,
