Prayer For Jan. 12th

January 12, 2018

Hello, Friends! I’m feeling led to re-post this today…

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for another day of life…Lord, please help us to not become bogged down with stressful days, problems in relationships and misunderstandings. So often someone who is having a bad day will take out their problems on us and what was just a bad moment, turns into a bad day as we dwell on what happened and then we  end up taking  what happened to us out on someone else in some way…

Lord, help us to love others on the good and bad days…help us to be like Jesus when it’s not easy to…please help us to respond instead of react…help us to be slow to speak and slow to anger…may our words be full of wisdom, mercy, grace and compassion…

Sometimes we are called to advocate for others…to speak up for what is right for our children, a friend or spouse, for an elderly parent or someone you put in our path… sometimes, no matter how hard we try to avoid it, conflict is inevitable… there are times that we try so hard to make our words and actions be kind, yet despite our best efforts and intentions, feelings get hurt or harsh words spoken…relationships become strained…when people get mad or take things wrong, it can be so disheartening… we tried our best to do the right thing and yet things still ended up a mess…

Please help us in our difficult situations and relationships…please do a work in us and through us and help us resolve the issues that need to be worked out with others…teach us when we need to persist in trying to mend relationships and when we need to just pray and walk away…please grant us your wisdom…please comfort us when our hearts are heavy…when we miss what was…when we have trouble accepting what is…when we don’t know what the next step to take should be…when we just want to withdraw from others because our heart is tired of being misunderstood and hurt…please help each of us where we are at with what ever difficulty we might be dealing with…

We take comfort knowing that you go before us…you know our hearts and intentions…you know where we need to improve and you are a faithful Father who never turns anyone away when they ask for help or wisdom. Help us to take responsibility for the things that we can change in our own lives and help us to not take on anything that is not our fault, our responsibility or our problem… We know that you will close doors and open doors… not everyone who comes into our life is meant to stay permanently…please, work, heal, lead, guide, comfort, renew and restore according to your will and in your timing. In the name of Jesus we ask these things. Amen

Blessings be upon you!

In His love,
Debbie
